I believe in the <potential>, considering that the supernatural is simply something for which we've not found an explanation that we can grasp.

And as to the Christian hating found here ('tis the season!), might I remind everyone that the number of children yearly molested by public school teachers outnumbers the numbers of Catholic priest abuse cases by a staggering ratio (and that's including the priest & young man numbers, for all you queer-haters): Between 1991 and 2000, roughly 290,000 students were subjected to physical and sexual abuse by teachers or other school personnel, versus 10,667 allegations of sexual abuse by of children Catholic priests between 1950 and 2002.

So what's that when divided by the number of children in public schools between 1991 and 2000, and those left in the care of priests for an equivalent amount of time (what is it, 8:30-5:00 every week day for two semesters a year?) between 1950 and 2002?

Most Christians don't see the need for priests since Jesus came and for the record pastors and reverends are very different

Anyway, I was clarifying: Johnny was talking about "pastors" (any priest would've done, I think) and martyrboy said "Christians".

It's kind of amazing how that number goes up when you restrict the number of people that have access to those in the profession and it's number that should be watched, but so should the level of awareness. I have seen it in my life, from catching the people you could just never believe would be doing that, to the current Men should not be teachers and we will live with the results crap that is happening today.

I have seen it in my life, from catching the people you could just never believe would be doing that, to the current Men should not be teachers and we will live with the results crap that is happening today.

OTOH, I work around an elementary school, and I realize just why most males avoid the teaching profession - it's like working in a minefield. There's plenty of underage kids that are spiteful enough to trump up false allegations just to laugh as they ruin some poor schlep's life. My job, if I'm being honest, is a piece of cake (for me) now, what with no need to handle my own routing and WAN - but due to the environment, I've got every reason to be as paranoid as I generally am.
