does 5 player = max exp in baal runs
or it simply a myth?
good rule of thumb
--> ignore everything you hear on b.net or b.net forums
You're probably thinking of drop-rate (and the magic number there isn't 5 either, going from memory). No, 5 player baal runs would not provide the most experience.
actually, i heard you get max at 6. im not sure how this applies, it came from a guy with a lvl 99. him and i were doing some baal runs and he'd take out 2 chars when we went to take out baal with the 2 highest lvls (much better exp for the 2). i asked him why he takes out 2 chars like that and he said its the same if there were 8...but like i mentioned, im not sure it only seems like this because at really high lvls (98) the exp is bad no matter what...you get like 50k from baal if your lucky.
actualy when you dont top2 at baal you dont even get 50k from a baal game if you're lvl 98. I just could never understand how a party of 5 where no one unparties at the end can get as much exp as a party of 8. Of course I forgot Omiron's rule of thumb lol.
good point
I'm sure someone was refering to something. and by the time the story got told a million times most memorized it as exp of 5 is max
