Does 2 times more goldfind gives around 2 times more gold ?

Hi all,

I've got a gf barb that currently have 1634 gf. I heard of someone being well over 2 000 gf.

Does 2 times more goldfind gives around 2 times more gold ? I mean, would more gf give me way more gold ? Or is it like mf and it has diminushing returns ?

There are no dimishing returns.

The amount of gold you get is: base*(1+GF%/100)

One irrelevant question ~ do you have double Ali Baba to achieve that amount of GF?

Yes I got double ali baba, but I could go even higher with double 6x lem'd weapon. However, this removes some mf. I got an mf sorc, maybe I should go for the extrem way and full gf.

Anybody can confirm stephan's formulae ? I am sure I heard from a pro gfer that past a certain amount of gf, it doesn't really makes a difference.

how much gold you usually get by killing a single council member at Hell Travincal? My 1500% gf Nec gets averagely 40k-50k from each of them, you should get a little more than that, but not much more.

Sometimes I get 90k, but it's hard to tell the average. Maybe 55 k or 60 k, I really dunno.

Still opened for any information about gf maths :)

From the GF Necromancer guide in Necromancer Forum, it states that it is linearly increasing w.r.t GF amount. So, the answer is YES.

Example: my MF sorc has 350% GF on her, and each council member at Hell Travincal gives averagely 10-15K gold. so, 1400% GF (350%*4) yields around 40k-60k, which is correct as my GF Necro's case.

the main advantage of this build is that it's CHEAP. personally, i don't see the point in spending up big on a character that's supposed to generate e-wealth. my build has a total of 6x Lem in it (2 in helm, one in armour, 2 in weapon, 1 in shield). Another reason is the nature of how +%goldfind works.

lets say a monster drops a base of 100 gold. if I have 2000% goldfind, thats suddenly 2100 gold falling out of it. if i have 2500% goldfind, thats 2600 gold falling out of it. an extra 500% goldfind starts to not look so good when we already have oodles of it.

as a "nice-round-number", shoot for somewhere in the realm of ~1500% goldfind, at this point you can start looking for extra survival mods.

Who are you running anyways? If it is say council, which drops mainly gold and charms, I say just stack GF like crazy.

I am running trav / eldritch, sometimes shrenk. Yea, I think you're right I might as well go pure gf. I'll try that someday !

I use a merc killing GF Barb and I've gotten some initial drops of 109K and some horks have given me two piles of gold 60K and 50K.

I think you should stick to strictly running a GF barb and a MF sorc.

Anyone ever try running the council in the Durance of Hate with Meph with a GF barb? I have often thought about this. Switching the wealth for an enigma to get there and then switch back.

Btw: what equipment are you using?

Here's mine with GF percentages (Level 89)

CoT 96
Ammy 45
Dual Lemmed Ali Baba's 645
Wealth 300
Dwarf Star's 200
Belt 78
Boots 80

CoT 86
Wealth 300

Gheeds 154
Gc of Greed x 7 280
Sc of Greed x 7 70

Total 2334%GF when Merc does the killing, which he does. It could use some upgrades in the CoT department and when I do I'll Lem them also so another 100% there and I'm still looking for a good ammy with +2 WC and higher GF%

It's a waste of time. It takes a long time to find the doorway to Durance 3 (no maphack, ofc) and it's less of them. Besides, you usually end up having to whoop the ghouls down there and waste even more time.

I sometimes do it when I'm perming a game to mule stuff. And I kill meph as well. But my goldfinder isn't a wussy "let merc do the dirty work" baba. He's a mean berserk killing machine who dispatches meph in 4 swings.. lol :)
