Do your auras negate enemy auras?

I don't know if this has been documented and/or whether this is a feature/bug, but I seem to be able to negate enemy auras with my own auras.

I use conviction almost exclusively, and when I do hell council runs, I often see "aura enchanted" displayed under the names of council members with no apparent aura present.

I recently tried switching to another aura, and indeed the conviction aura remained present on the council members, which meant that the aura was conviction.

here's the funny thing though - while I switched to a different aura, my resistances / defense went way down, as it should if I were under the influence of conviction; however, when I switched BACK to conviction, my resistances went back to their normal levels despite being in close proximity to the aura enchanted council member.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a server desync since I turned conviction off for a good long while, then switched it back on for a length of time.

Does anybody else have any experience with this?

No.
But I've seen aura enchanteds decide to change their aura :)
Fun to have a harmless Holy Fire Yeti switch over to Fanaticism, yep.
And no, I didn't go to town :)

BTW. I had a Fanaticism enchanted Bloodhawk nest spawn without monster shrines, and it had friends too.... I killed a lot of bloodhawks that day :)

has anybody tested holy freeze mercs against holy freeze monsters?

I find them to be some of the most annoying monsters in the game

What the hell? Does this only apply to conviction and will it cancel out other auras besides conviction? How about when both auras are at the same level?
