Do PNova Necros need max res?

Do PNova Necros need max res?

I'm just wondering if PNova necros need max res in hell.

ill post the gear that i will use later..

Erm...it'll help :D

Harder to do effectively than when using a bonamancer IMO, but I think that max resists should be desirable for every character. No character absolutely NEEDS max resists.

Unless you're in HC that is, then EVERY character needs max resists :)

Thanks for your response.

This is the gear I will be using (I am SCL East):
Cham'd Shako
Mage Plate Enigma
2/2/-55/+5 Deaths Web
Um'd Homoculus
28 maras
Arachnids Mesh
2 x Sojs
Marrowwalks
Trangs Gloves

With this gear, I have the following Resists:
Cold- 66, Light / Fire / Psn - 36

In order for me to get maxed resists I will need to get 5 x 5all res sc and UM my shako.. but i really liked cham'd shako for the cannot be frozen effect and 5 all res sc's are really pricy, unless i find the right person..

is 66/36/36/36 res enough? or should i go for 75/51/51/51 with an Um'd shako?

That is some impressive kit and you'll have few problems in Hell. Whether you need resists depends on your build and how you play. If you have a nice bunch of minions in front of you they lessen elemental attacks by drawing fire.


A simple solution to your "resist" problem would be to replace an soj with a resist all ring. You can get up to 20% resist all on a rare and 30% on a magical ring with another useful mod.

I don't have maxxed resists with bramble...but with full trang's get 71/75/75/75 in hell( i go with that for DClone)

Hiya,

I am using a pretty godly lvl 87 poisonmancer and i would say if you have -light res on hell you are definitely going to die (take my word for it, the gloams owned me totally when i had -1 light res.). I would have gone for an UMd shako not cham, and wore the trang belt for its CBF. Come to think of it, a poisonmancer should always be wearing trang belt, shield and belt anyway...

I like having a 25k+ poison nova (with LR), but it makes no difference when you can't get near the gloams to use it,

Good luck, i would be glad to give you any pointers (i did hell with my poisonmancer)

This Pnova necro will be strictly for pits so which of the following setup's should I use?

Um'd Shako, Maras, enigma, deaths web, arachnids, um'd homoculus, marrowwalks, trangs gloves, 2 sojs

or

Um'd Shako, Maras, enigma, deaths web, TRANGS belt, TRANGS shield, TRANGS gloves, marrowwalks, 2 sojs

or

Full trangs set, maras, deaths web, marrowwalks, 2 sojs

I'd use that one. Also if you are strictly a pit runner your resists aren't all that important. Things to look out for elementalwise in the pits:
Shaman's fireball
Cold enchanted death nova
Fire Enchanted Death CE
Lightning encanted
Holy Fire enchanted
SPectral hit archers

Basically you'll only have to worry about special enchantments on the bosses. The Tamoe Highlands have skeletal mages, but if you are just sprinting to the pit you can forget about them too.

Well since you're gona be using enigma, i don't see why you need the CBF cham/trangs belt. Being frozen doesnt affect your ability to teleport so i wouldn't bother with it. An um would be much more welcome.

Hmm and why not use arachnids + homo + trangs gloves instead? Could you expand on your reasoning for ur advice?

3 pieces of trangs, including the wing gives you the - to enemy poison resists and since this is a novamancer, that's a good thing :D

so you feel the -psn resistance from this 3 piece overweights the +3 all p/b skills and +5 to curses from arachnids and homoculus?
