Do I need to start her over ?

Hi guys and gals.

I've recently fired old D2 back up again and forgot how much fun it can be.

I have been roughly following the Cookiecutter meteord sorc build and I am fairly happy with my skill points thus far.


My stat points however I am starting to get worried about.

at level 60 they are distributed as follows

72 Str
88Dex
160 in Vit
65 in nrg (ya ya I got lazy )

Have I sent this poor sorcy down the road of misplaced stat points ?
At this point where should I spend the next 40 levels of stats ?

I am interested in this too. I have a meteor orb sorc too, and so far she's doing phenomenally at level 58. I have 111 saved stat points because I haven't been able to get a monarch shield yet and people have suggested dual spirits.

My stats are:

70 str
base dex
124 vitality
base energy

111 saved stat points.

Should I pump my base str up to 156 str, or rely on + str items? I am untwinked, but I have some decent - poor items like Vipermagi, ravenfrost, nightsmoke.

Is pumping dex to get up to required dex for wizspike (should I ever get it) useful? I have a +19 dex ravenfrost and I get +5 more from tearhaunch that lets me use shard. I do however, have a +2 skills orb which also give energy, life and decent resists - at the cost of a breakpoint FCR from shard.

Boht your vitality looks fine, just as your strength.

@Kurb, what do you plan to use the dexterity for? Will get a max-blocking shield or keep pumpig vitality. If you keep along the vitalit route you should stop pumpig dexterity and get your strength up to the amount you need for Spirit shield.

The extra points you have in energy might be a bit overdone, but they won´t hurt either, making you drink a bit less potions

@apehlion - About finding a white monarch, they drop in Hell frequently. A way better way to get one is to get onto the trading forum of your realm here and simply pay some smaller amount of perfect gems or some lower runes for a white monarch. People are crafting already and need perfet gems and runes already. A very cheap and fast way to get a white monarch, which you can socket with the socket quest.

You can start pumping your strength to 156 and just dump the rest into vitality and keep pumping vitality after that.

I play SP with my friends on this char, so I can't trade. We also have an unspoken rule about playing untwinked and keep it within our small group =p. Its frustrating at times, but the sense of socialism and accomplishment is pretty cool compared to my days of endless hell cows.

Thanks for your advice on the stat points and white monarch. I'll stop my normal cow runs for 4os crystal swords now and just focus on getting to Hell asap. But the question about wizspike's dex requirements : is it worth planning for? Or can I just easily get the dex from items by that point in the game.
