Do auradins actually suck?

HI i did some calculations and it comes out an Fire/Light auradins avaregae damage is abou 500 per second not counting the convinction bonus due to reduce resists. Aplly pvp modifier and the damage is simply pittyfull.
Even with convinction its so ridiculously small everybody with cta and brain to put points into vita will laugh at me (im doing an auradin now).
So is an auradin just kind of a weak charger with funny aura to kill noobs?

There's something wrong with your calculations. My dream auradin did about 9k lightning damage with charge + griefs and fortis psychical damage. Pretty much 1 hitted casters.

Synergized 30 lvl holy shock does 1-7000 damage without counting any other bonuses / + skills.

ur talking about the damage increase on charge.
Im talking about the aura itself which is supposed to kill most people in a couple of tics.
If the auras are only for damage increase then its senseless as there are lotta better ways to make charger stronger.
AInt me right?

The pulses will only kill if opponents resists are lowered to negatives. A Dragon auradin may even have a better chance of pulsing to death because of bigger aura range and more consistant average damage, and Tgods = pretty much completely sorbed + healing from the pulses.

Auradins usually pwn pubs for the first 5 minutes, then later they'll bring sorber to pk Auradins....

Yah ofcourse i'm talking about the damage it adds to melee attack. What's the point of just sitting there. Sure i wanna zeal / charge people.

then ur a charger with dream not an auradin u also said u use grief/forti.
Im a pure auradin HoJ Dragon Dream Dream.

Psychical damage / lightning damage build. Only difrence to normal auradin is that i use grief + forti instead of hoj + dragon. I thought most auradins use charge / zeal to attacks mobs / players. Not just stand still and wait till aura kills something. The pulse damage won't kill any half decent pvper.

You can call my build what ever you want, but in my opinion its auradin. My damage relys alot on dreams holy shock aura and i use conviction as my aura instead of fana.

does convinction lower or practicly neglect players defense? As it has over 100% reduce def.

No...unfortunately it does not work that way. It only removes from the total def bonus (650-95=still godly def), which is why zeal auradins can only kill sorcs and zons when you get close. Trying to zeal a smiter is like trying to kill an elephant with a broom.


One point zeal is useful sometimes though.

Basically, yeah, anything with stacked resists and you will just piss them off, make them nk you when you actually do die. You just sort of charge around and hope people can't catch you...but anyone with a brain can catch you. It takes a long time too for some kills.

I've made three this ladder season...and the fact that I've made three should tell you I was disappointed. I've tried to make a FoH version, a Zeal version and a charge version. You basically have to say "Ok, I am an uber caster killer...I promise to die horribly to any meele character (unless a Zon)"

My advice is to either accept that you will die to barbs and smiters (due to no dr), but will own almost all sorcs (due to super resists), zons, and sins. If you want a char that can own all, dont make an auradin. I just got bored...and ended up trading away the gear after it sat awhile.

The pure fire auradin is something I did not try, and you could use a Coa for some dr. My opinion is that it would work, but you wont pwn very many people, and its not a 1st tier dueler

Windys and hammers will be interesting duels.

Personally, I think they are better suited to PvM...where they are just about the best monster killers in the game.

Windies aren't too hard for an auradin as most people think.

In fact, its easier than a pure charger, and perhaps pure smiters even if I dare go that far, because pulses just destroy all minionstack.

Thank u a lot for usefull info guys especially Josiphos.
Comes out i do have to worry about my ar.
Im going to max out charge, wear 1 ravens and use demon limb for pre cast.
Thats all i consider for AR now u think it will be enough?
