Distraction Ever been so distracted that you forgot what you were supposed to be doing? Such as going into a room for a specific purpose, then forgetting what the heck you went in there for? Last night, Mrs. K. wanted me to pick her up a snack on the way home. I had a couple of errands to run, and a fair bit to do to prepare for this weekend. So my mind is racing, thinking of this, that and the other. Pull into Dairy Queen. Damn, long line in the drive through. Figure "oh well, maybe it'll put her in a good mood", prepare for a long wait. Almost fifteen minutes later, I am the second car from the window. Then I realize: I didn't order any food, I just drove through. :embarassed: I sit there and ponder my options for a minute: (a) go to the window, and ask for my food. After all, what kind of idiot would not order something, they must have screwed up. (b) get to the window, and try to place my order then. I think that I might get a blizzard thrown my way with that option. (c) drive away in shame. So, I winged the car around, drove around the store, and went in and ordered her food. Not letting on what a doofus I am. Leave the store, figure I'd call one of the fellows that is helping me this weekend, make sure all of the stuff and plans are in order. Put the bluetooth headset on, turn it on, hit the button to voice dial. Nothing. Hit it again. Nothing. Figure, third time's the charm, hit it again. Nada. I was thinking that maybe the battery was getting low, went to grab my phone from my pocket to make sure they were connected. No. phone. Left it at my office, had to charge it during the day. Lord, help me. I can't even blame it on durf, poing or boobies. Boobies would have been the preferable excuse for being that distracted.
