Disable title music?

Is there any way to disable the music that plays at the title screen & while in the b.net chat rooms?

Thanks.

Omg, i didnt know that...

I sometimes played months in silence because i assumed b.net just screwed up with something on the music...

I thought was my computer that was messed up lol. But because i always found the music to be annoying I didnt particularly care.

The Ctrl button bug was introduced with 1.10, in which - even after releasing it - the system doesn't register the release and hitting 'M' during login or chat will turn it off and on. It's seen in game, as well, when you're running without holding Ctrl or having toggled 'R'.

However, the music restarts to play after a while, even if you pressed ctrl-M.
My experience is that you get rid of it for a while, but then it comes back, and you need to do it again. :sad2:

It doesn't 'come back' on it's own. Again, you have to either reset certain aspects of the game (re-install or such) or hit Ctrl+M, and remember, your Ctrl button can stick in this game with 1.10 and later versions.

I also found the D2 music to be extremely annoying, so I was glad when I found out that I could just mute the music and listen to my own instead.
I've had the music disabled for some time now, maybe a little over half a year? And it hasn't come back yet.

I normally turn on the in-game music for a while when a new ladder season starts.

BTW, to skip the intro and to enter the bnet login screen directly, right-click the game icon, select properties and add a space and -skiptobnet to the end of the "Target" text field, so it looks e.g. like this:

"C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -skiptobnet
