Sorry for the letdown, but stores do this all the time, and the release dates are in no way coordinated. They just put a date that seems reasonable, well that is reasonable enough for people to spend money now (so their quarterly profits look good on paper).

sbn is right. Have a look at the Starcraft 2 "release dates" posted by various retailers over at starcraftwire: http://www.starcraftwire.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2117 (and it was worse than what was actually posted too, because some retailers actually listed 2008 or earlier initially).

They do this to get the pre-order money in, and then bump back the dates as necessary when it doesn't get released (usually because it was "delayed"). Unless you hear something from Blizzard themselves, then it's just speculation.

Well, if you hear anything from US, that is not labelled as "rumours", then I would count that as reliable as well :)

People are more likely to place a pre-order if there's a date. It's reassuring for the customer.

Please, no one buy from such schmucks ever ok? A physical address, a telephone number. My psychotherapy website has it, it means you are not hiding and legit

And I bet 100 bucks that this game is $59.99 when it comes out. How can it be less?

Imagine how wonderful it would be with a date. But everybody knows that blizz wont give a date untill its completly finished and they are producing the games.
