Anyways, orph, maybe you and i can hook up again on another game. I'm tempted to say WoW, but seriously, every game bliz has made has been hacked to hell and I really think the same will happen to WoW. And no one think about telling me pay-to-play is gonna make it unhackable.
Blizz makes good games and therefore is a big target for the hackers.
Maybe guild wars we can try.
For now though i've just been playing demos: halo mainly.
you should try Theif 1 and 2. AWESOME games. Honestly myfav games. The only downfall is its single player only. But man those are great games.

I can't be sure what i'll be playing, sooner or later when i get back to gaming again. More than likely though I will not purchase WoW for some of the same reasons you mentioned. As well as the fact that I am adamanet in my position that paying per-month for a game is just wasteful of money and ones time, in hours spent gaming.

I'll try and reach you whenever you're on IM. I saw you IM I missed thisafternoon when I was out to lunch.

Games I currently dabble in at least. Civilization 3, Halo. And as soon as I get my new video-card installed I'll try and get Doom3, heralded as the scariest video game of all time, sounds fun. :lol:

Post count is nothing but a sign of too much time during the day to kill and yes ofourse the willingness to try and help others or at least try and discuss things, or maybe in may case piss off a few people now and again!!!

Lost both my lvl 80 and 91 asns today.
Just to monsters with unexpected mods. Was mad about my 91 since I was just doing a trav run like i've done dozens of times before. I've never had any real trouble. I had killed all the council but GEleb. He was light enchant but didnt see the other mods. i was attacking him for a good 20 secs and not taking a lick of damag, then all the sudden he smacks me 2x and i'm dead. 1400 life in 2 hits. Not to mention 30% DR from full nats.

I was happy about the reset and thought it would be a fresh start, but truth be told, I have no F'n idea why bliz reset the ladder and left the hacks. That just left legit ppl like me in the dust.

I have another full nats on a mule, but I just deleted everything. Got classes starting in sept and will be vacationing most of August.

Well, I had some fun past 3-4 weeks a fresh start. I noticed its started to go downhill pretty quickly though withthe hacks and tppking. Maybe if the hacks were fixed, I would have stayed, but in the end, it's not worth it.

i know exactly how you feel that sucks to die at such a high level but it happens to almost everyone just when you think you are invincible with a character death is just around the corner and it strikes you when you lower your guard,when i lost my level 92 zon it took me a week to heal from this death but like most of us i came back to the game and learned from my mistakes............dont quite d2 on that negative note.............harcore is for real players like people on this forum........hope to see you back soon :howdy:

Like I said though before, I WOULD have stayed but the hacks are completely out of control and I won't come back until they are fixed, which is most likely never. Why would blizzard reset the ladder and not fix hacks? Shows their low priorities

Actually the lightning enchantment on monsters has fairly consistent damage. It is based on a monster level of charged bolt and that has a tight damage range (less than 10 pts), unlike extreme ranges like lightning, chain lightning, assasin traps, etc. Of course if you stand at a different angle to the LEB monster you may take less damage from it.

FELE Spectral Lister killed my 93 Druid on the last ladder with 4k + HPs (bo+Oak) Max block and max resist 80 fire. 2 bolts of lightning dead. remember the fire death damage stacks on the LE bolts if you are in melee range. Quite nasty on a monster with Listers life.

I've decided since I'm utterly bored right now, gonna play single player. I dled that atma utility so I can at least mule. Made a MF sorc first and used that -act5 thing so I start at lvl 33.
Figure I'll MF nm baal to hell and get good stuff then make a new char. My only complaint about single player is it doesn't have all the updates as multi (runewords, etc)

SP is actully the easiest and the most boring way of playing the game: easy because you can "instantly" get everything you like, boring because if you actually play SP it would take you years to level up and to see more than a few decent items. Also (at least to me), HC and SC are *exactly* the same in SP.

This is one extreme of the game play = extreme boredom.


The other extreme is to play HCL in big games, solo, untwinked, and quest the entire game = extreme fun. (I've almost done this 3 times and am now doing this for the 4th time, tho the games I was in were not always as big as I like - I shoulda run 8 Diablo copies, or ask my friends to always leave their chars in my game).

My guess is that when patch 1.10 was first planned it had fairly high priority, but as time passed it turned into a fix what we can and cut our losses. I think Bliz is still actively going after hacks, but logistically they have to act only periodically, waiting to see what becomes a real problem before doing anything.

Keep in mind Bliz wants the game dangerous, so nm and hell are full of random almost instant death situations. Geleb is a known NM deathtrap when FE, so do a lot of Trav runs and eventually it will be nasty. That really goes against a lot of player feelings, I know my number one problem is never being willing to back off, even when winning is clearly not going to happen.
