Did you steal $15,000 from me?

A couple evenings ago I got a call from Citibank about my credit card. "Did you use your card today to buy $9,000 worth of gear from this American computer sales website?" Um, no.

Someone made a 2-cent charge and followed that up with two $4,500 purchases. The "tiny purchase to make sure the card is live" is a common practice among these criminals apparently, and that set off the alarm bells at the bank. They froze the card and got in touch with me.

We went through the list of purchases on the card for the last month or so. A few of them were mine, but I had nothing to do with the thousands upon thousands of dollars, pounds, and euros spent in the UK, Germany, and America. That card gets around. I think the total hit about $15,000. Mostly computer and electronics sales.

I'm not too worried about things. Citibank cancelled the card while on the phone with me. The card bill comes out of my bank account, but for the transactions that have already gone through, they're going to credit the account so I don't end up with my yen balance dropping down to zero. And my next card statement will include a dispute form for me to cancel anything else that slipped through.

So who am I supposed to blame for things like this?

So you don't personally lose $$$?

Sounds like someone might have cloned your card - restaurants, checkouts at stores and the like can do this with little scanners.

Places where they take your card away (like restaurants) to swipe and bring it back on a nice silver plate for you to sign are a bit of a risk if the waiter is being tipped by criminals looking for card details.

Otherwise keyloggers taking your purschases online and getting your details.

People going through your trash.

And (though I doubt this is you) people replying to e-mails proporting to be from their card company requesting an update of contact details.

Coincidentally, I am also constantly finding myself without $15,000 while the US Guberment always has $15,000 on hand to spend on things like wars on terror, genetically engineered super-soldiers & conspiracies with alien uber civilizations. I await Alexzed to appear & explain how they are doing this.

Don't forget all the money they spend on genetically mutated seeds to supress the poor in other countries.

So thats why the £7.99 grass seeds I bought to re-do my lawn didnt grow when I put them under a tree in summer! I thought it sounded a bit suspiscious that they were from Canada, obviously some kind of US guberment front company to con me out of my money & lawn.

I blame LARPers. They've got the motive - all of them have no jobs and live in their parents' basements.

If there are charges at Toys R' Us for mass quantities of NERF weaponry, that'll cinch it.

Otherwise, it might be you or one of your other personalities. Maybe this'll teach you not to order those so-called penis enlarging pills that you get ads for in your e-mail account.

When I was 16, someone got a hold of my card number and purchased 1500 dollars worth of porno in Australia. The lady at the bank thought I was lying to her when I said that I don't live there

If it was some really deviant ****, you wouldn't be off the mark with a presumption like that.

I for one welcome our new credit card stealing overlords.

I blame the mutated serbian babies that came from nazi made DU rounds fired at hormone modified super seeds that your grandfather used to kill indians(by making them obese) in a war over the top 1% of society picking up their noses in foreign countries while being surprised about 9/11.
