Did I screw up?

My CL/FO sorc is currently level 58 and has 35 stat points saved. I've already maxed FO and put 13 points in cold mastery, I figure that'll be enough since I plan on using an infinity merc. So I'm done with the cold tree and plan on maxing lightning/chain lightning and light mastery.
Now the problem is, I hadn't decided whether to go for a vit sorc or a block sorc when I began leveling, and I've already put 45 points in dex.

My stats are as follows

72 str
100 dex (due to charms and equip) so 70 dex without equip
85 vit
101 energy

Now in my final gear set up, I had planned on using an using upped vipers, but I recently decided to scrap that idea and go for an enigma. With the additional str I'd get from the enigma, I'd only have to add a few points to equip a 'Spirit' Monarch. Or should I scrap all that and go with the tals set?
So far my only definate equip is 2 sojs and the Spirit monarch shield.

My two questions are, is it too late for me to turn my build into a vit sorc? And what is the best gear setup for the build?

If I choose enigma, thats 1 less lightning facet I'll be able to socket onto equip.

Here's what I'd do, go for full Tals, and use a Whistan's Guard socketed shield (it doesn't need much dex for max block) and socket it with a Lightning Facet, if you really want to use Spirit monarch I suggest re-building your sorc :-/. Going vita sorc at this point would mean 45 wasted stat points, for a little damage loss you'll get a 75% block from whistans guard, I think it's worth it.

If I was you i'd achieve 75% block with the shield first and then pump vit. afterwards. 75% block is amazingly useful for MFng, questing and power leveling.

Getting block with a Spirit takes like 300 dex... it's not worth it.

I think its worth it... but only in very needing situations... my sorc runes 200FCR and has a 75 block lidless... with an Eld rune of course.. saves me lots of dex... she has about 308 after items though, and that just does the trick!

If I go for the tals set, plan on using a spirit shield, that means I'd have to spend about another 70 points on str and then use at least 200 to acheive max block. While if I switch to a vit sorc, I lose out on about 90 life.

So it comes down to which is more useful, 400 life or max block.

Max block... you can make up for life with charms easily.. especially when its only that amount... thats just my opinion though...
