DiabloII.net's 7th year!

Oh man, go check out the '98 site. I'd forgotten how much it has changed... man.

Congrats to the staff of DiabloII.net, and thanks for all the hard work, if any of you happen to stop by and read this. This has been the homepage for many of us over the years, and for a good reason.

I've alt+tab'ed out of the game countless times to look up unique stats, runewords, ilvl's, mf% returns... everything. It has been more than anyone can ask for in a fan site, and then more still.

To quote the great Wayne and Garth, :worship: We're not worthy! :worship:

Whish I'd been around at that time. I'd be *so* much better at this game if I had started reading about it earlier.
Here's to the next 7 years, and DiabloIII.net! :buddies: :drink:

Maybe, maybe not. Check out how much innacurate information and wishful thinking we feeded on. And the l33t D1 belt in D2.

Mmmm, I wasn't really referring to this pre-release rumour-mongering, but more in general.

I only learned about specific builds, MFing, skill allocation etc. when I joined this forum. I think 1.09 had been out for quite a while at that point.

Lost a lot of time on a hopeless Bowazon, pityful Sorceress, etc. That that 'zon *ever* beat Normal Diablo, and eventually even reached halfway NM will never cease to amaze me.

I'm not a good player now by any standard, just not as totally hopeless as I used to be.

I wouldn't have made matriarch with my first character without this site. I think I was pumping MA for a strafeazon. Great site.

I found this amusing (from the battle.net page):

- Blizzard says it is committed to addressing the problem, and co-designer Eric Schaefer promises, "We will solve the cheating." Schaefer won't reveal details though, partly because the team is still working on solutions and partly because Blizzard doesn't want to give away its plans to prospective cheaters. On my visit to Blizzard back in May Bill Roper told me that a whole team of programmers had been employed with the express task of ensuring the code can not be hacked to make super-weapons and super-characters.

Brings back memories of broken dreams..
