Diablo I 3rd party progs vs Diablo 2

It may be a silly question, but I'll ask nevertheless.

If I'm simultaneously playing D1 Singleplayer and D2 CBN, and I use DiabloGuard (a scanner for D1) while playing D1, will it prompt the Warden program to mark my D2 BN account as a "hack user"?

Who can really say to be honest. If DiabloGuard (which seems to be an anti-hacked items program) doesn't interact in any way with Diablo 2 or Battle.net then probably not, but I don't think anyone would say 100% whether Blizzard would pick up on it or not.

The use of third party programs for single player modes is entirely up to the user.

Thanks to both of you. It's a little embarrasing but i got to the same conclusion once I thought it over the next day. In the mean time i wrote to Blizzard about it (nothing specific) and the best part is... they ignored me. They just sent me the questionaire to fill out... LOL.

Anyway... again thank you both for your time and answers. After I lost one account last year because of the modified d2gfx.dll (to enable 2x Diablo2 for TCP/IP mulling - I accidentally logged on BN with the modified version and boom scratch one of my oldest accounts), I got a little scared.

....that is allowed on the SP forums.

But not on the rest of the site. It's tolerated in the SP community, but is as mentioned by Sephiria is a bannable offense for Blizzard, and as such is still correctly classed as a hack.

Exactly. It may be allowed on the SP forums but it is not anywhere else because Blizzard views it as a hack, and for the record nurman, the SP forum rules do not apply here.

Re: Diablo I 3rd party progs vs Diablo 2

    Just to clarify:

    - my mishap with the d2gfx.dll took place a year ago; logging on BN with the modified file was an accident, one that i got to regret deeply

    - the last year's problem has nothing to do with my recent 'predicament'. DiabloGuard is a scanner, a tool necessary on Battlenet despite the fact that only about 500 people still play Diablo 1 - PKs and trading scammers are everywhere.

    - since I got two informative responses (and got screwed by Blizzard) that shed some light on the subject and got to the same conclusions myself, there's no need to keep this topic alive - the discussion strayed of the subject.

Nurman & Orphan - thanks again for your time. Now let's close te topic - it's over.

We don't close topics just because a discussion is thought to be over by the OP.

We close them for rule violations.
