Can i roll a Combat Pally Skills GC with +30-40 life with a Diablo GC? Or does it have to be a Baal GC?

No it doesnt! Skiller charms with +30 - 40 to life (max 40) can be found in the pits as well! The level req for such a charm is 67 or 69 if i remember right!

But if i were you i would use GC found in leve 85 areas! Just to be sure!

First of all, Chaos Sanctuary is a lvl 85 area.

Of course, Diablo is an act boss, so he doesn't use area levels. According to Arreat Summit, Diablo is lvl 94 --- regular monsters in lvl 85 areas can only get up to lvl ** (bosses and their minions), so "Just be sure" applies to Diablo as well.

First i know Chaos Sanctury is level 85! Said nothing else about that! U maybe need to clarify that chaos is level 85

And second the question was about Baal GC not Diablo GC! And yes Diablo GC is above the level area e g Diablo hell is level 94! And yes GC found from him (hellmode) can turn into a skiller with 30 - 40 life when rerolled!

i rolled a necro summon GC with +3x life from hell cows, so i'd say "no need for baal charm"

yeah you get the same ilvl 85 charms in hell cows. Baal can get up to 99 i think? not sure

for an open char you can always check ilvl in ATMA. For area levels:

but as it has been mentioned it doesn't apply for act bosses so AS is your best bet. (also champs, uniques spawn with higher levels)

btw. how come you get ilvl 85 charms from cows? (unless a unique drops it) The area level is 81, i tought hell/nm forces all monsters to be at that level. or am i in some deep misunderstanding here again?
