Diablo 3 my solution for a PvP game?

Diablo 3 looks extremely visceral and just plainly awesome but I've never really totally been a PvE guy..Don't get me wrong i love smashing monsters but after awhile the loot I get I just want to use to test my skills against online players because I just like the competitiveness and intensity PvP offers.

I know that not much has been released yet but do you think Diablo 3 will satisfy my PvP hungers? If not what games on the horizon do you think will do this. I really liked WoW Vanilla PvP but I quit when BC came out due to personal reasons (When I came back the PvP seemed fun and all but not the same game I loved). Other than that I haven't had too much experience with online RPGs since I mainly have played RTS/RPG competitively for many years..

the pvp will likely be fast paced and intense. so since u liked the pvp in WoW, u may not enjoy it=)

Haha, well I'm hoping it does have a good PvP System..It will probably be Blizzcon 2009 before we hear anything on that

I would like to see the same pvp system from diablo 2. I know a lot dont like pkers, but pkers is what makes the game so much more exciting, especially in hardcore mode. I mean, its such a thrill not knowing who you can trust and if there only out to kill you. The cowking tp is kinda lame, but going hositle at will and chasing down another player was so much fun and D2 had a nice team system for pvp. I hope they dont differ too much with D3

My current guess would be that Blizzard will offer PvP via dueling (yes, more or less the exact same as WoW), however the combat in itself is worlds apart, basically fast paced, hardcore, flatout battle, but using the familiar 1v1, no interruptions format that dueling in WoW introduced.

I personally, wouldn't mind this, however i'd hope for a group vs group duel option also, then things would get really interesting.

OP, I have a solution for you. Look up a game called "Fury." It's a fantasy MMO where you can only get XP and items by killing other players.

Fury sucks, don't waste your time bro. And on the PvP part I hope they go more towards the hardcore PvP style as in getting ganked and ect..Com'mon..that's seriously what makes the game fun and puts some drama into it. If people just like to run through a game, killing monsters that drop candy and blood being replaced by cake frosting than what are you doing here? know what i mean?

PK is already dead in D3 as we know and PVP in Diablo has always been a joke. Its wasnt even rightfully adressed by the developers, when asked about PVP balance at the times of the annoying amazons and their almost infinite guided arrow piercing, their answer was "Diablo 2 is balanced for PVM" and it took them a looonggg time to even bother nerfing guided arrow.

D2 PVP is a gear-based Joke that usually lasts 1-9 secs of battle as players do a lot of damage even with PVP reduction. I just hope that Diablo 3's PVP would be more balanced and battles might be more tactical and smart than the 1 hit kill KO mess that was D2's PVP.

yeah pre-BC WoW PvP was really really nice imo and at least rewarded good pvper better then afker and lousy people that just spam and think they were awesome...now its pretty much retard vs retard and they all think they are awesome when i actually owned most hunter with top gear in simple dragonstalker...yeah its that sad lol...and the gear is way to easy to get and there is no sense of accomplishement for me,is really just another grind now and also a really bad thing was everyone ended up looking the same even raider got the same gear but different colors...the WOW factor went away really fast and by that i mean it wasnt really impressive to see everyone in the same damn gear in the end

as for another good PvP game..meh i can't really think of something as good as WoW,Warhammer online was seriously poor and just a copy and paste of WoW with more battleground on each tier but it just end up splitting everyone apart to much and there was just a few good one the rest of them was really of poor quality

and about D3 pvp....Diablo as always been alots more PvE then PvP despite what some people think(retard )...Pker were a big anoyance in D2 from what i hear from most people(its not like its hard to leave a game before he find you or to come back and kick is *** with an uber pker...most pker have no skill at all anyway they prey on weak that can't defend themself and imo they should get shot irl....most are probly frustrated kid or worst nerd back with a vengance until i come back and show them how to do real pvp )


so yeah pker and griefer are also the most ive seen from D2 pvp...and ive been playing WAYYYY to long lol,duel sometime happen but rarely and most duel group are private hidden clan...the game wasnt designed much for pvp

i think PvP in Diablo was always useless and just there to hinder the game more then anything...it as never had any structure or purpose and was always used mostly to grief and just a few dueled...even then the game isnt balanced for PvP if you ever tried dueling alots...its way to fast for some people and way to easy for other the gear itself pose a problem and i dont want to see a fair "fix" like in WoW were everyone use the same damn gear or close to the same gear

DaOc was pretty neat wayyy back but dunno if people still play it,they ruined that game like every other mmorpg out there and there was alots of hacking problem...not as much as in WoW though but still in PvP it can destroy a game easily,WoW hacker and bot are mostly PvE and ruining the economy and program for afking in BG arent that powerfull and dont input command like in some other game ive seen

and yes fury is really a poor game imo was fun for like 10 min then i couldnt stand it

i think removing PvP would be better for D3...like i said it always hindered the game alots more then it helped it

Oh and NO i dont want a stupid arena ala WoW...one of the most stupid idea ever for PvP...and putting reward for that...wow such a freaking good idea huh...you end up with another pre-made vs pick up team and one just afk and the other farm easy kill since both get reward so...yeah no thank you...i felt like i was playing retard in DoTa that play 5 friend on vent vs 5 random people...can we say freaking unfair and boring...seriously do they think they are good or what?...the sad part is some actually lose wtf

oh yeah get DoTa its a really awesome PvP game....although they just buffed some hero that shouldnt be buffed and nerfed hero that shouldnt be nerfed and left the OP hero like they were god ice_frog=really crappy balance

Oh don't worry, this game is going to deliver on so many levels. Blizzard always does, I mean we trash Blizzard for making stupid decisions, but we play their games avidly still. It will deliver, PVP is going to be so satisfying in this game you'll feel like you just bust a nut after killing someone.

I am looking forward to playing a PVP-based WitchDoc. I don't like WoW's PVP in terms of how bland it is, but I do like how technical it is. This is an aspect I hope to see in Diablo 3, where casting the wrong skill at the wrong time can lead to certain death.
