details on getting Diablo Clone to spawn?

I've been searching the boards for information on getting Diablo Clone to spawn, and I am a little confused. From what people have been saying I am left with a few questions about the details.

1) Do you have to be walking by a special mini-boss to get "diablo walks the earth" to appear, or can you be sitting in town?
2) If you see "#### soj's sold to merchants" should you go outside to a spot with a special mini-boss in order to get diablo clone to spawn or does seeing multiple sold to merchant message just increase the odds of him spawing?
3) After diablo clone has been beaten does it still say "diablo walks the earth" to everyone when they enter the game?
4) If you see "diablo walks the earth" do you only have a limited time to spawn diablo clone?

I have yet to fight diablo clone and have been MFing in hell games for a long time, so that is why I am curious.

Hi i've been hunting dc quite a lot for now, and finds an anni about every 2nd/3rd day (damn nice)

1) no, when u have found an acktive server (server where soj´s are being sold) u can wait in town until the "diablo walks the earth" message appers, when this message appears u can still wait in town for so long u like (remember to move your char every 4-5-6 min. or else you will be kick'et out of the game), after the message appered (diablo walks the earth) diablo clone will appears by the first uniqe monster u meet (allways pick one in act1, heh it's pretty hard killing dc in act3 q6 or q5, or act6 q1, I allways kill him in act1 q1 (i cant remember the place names))
If others joins your game after the message "diablo walks the earth", the message will also apper on their screen (and the earth shakes), also after dc are killed
Remember:
-dc will not appear in normal or nightmare
-Hot servers get's full pretty quick so be quick joining them
-I know some nice webpages where u can see which servers are hot (but only europe, so are u Europe??)
-to see what server u have joined u press (win xp): Start--->run--->in this window u must write: netstat -n ----> now a lots of numbers appears---> look for a line where 4000 is the last number ----> the number before 4000 is that diablo server number u have joined, so if server 215 is hot u have to go in and out of games (create games by your self, with password) until u have joined server 215, when u have joined the server u just have to wait untill the nice little message appears

1 & 2. diablo will replace a superunique, only if the superunique has not been generated yet. superuniques are boss monsters that appear on the same map every time, sometimes in the same place, but sometimes in varying places. so, if you walk near rakinishu, he might generate, and thus not be replaced later if diablo walks the earth.

So, you don't have to stay in town, but far enough away not to spawn the regular mob.

3. no. he will only appear if "diablo walks the earth" message appears.

4. yes and no. no, in that he will replace the first superunique generated after the mesage. yes, in that people will be running around like mad trying to generate him.

other tips: if, while you are mf'ing, you see the counter move, holding that game open is not a bad idea. people have waited from a few minutes to 5 hours.

the actual soj counter is the last 3 digits of the what you see on the screen. nobody is sure what the first digit does. it is supposed to spawn within 100.
