Destruction runeword?

Hello,

While getting back into D2and looking at runewords and what runes I have and I saw this, every guide I've seen doesn't mention this rune word, is it just useless or are the runes better used in other items? If the runewordis viable what is it best in?

It has a few nice affixes, like lots of %ed, ITD and a bit CB, but it needs 3 HRs. That's a bit expensive and there are usually better choices for most other builds, in particular Grief and those runewords which are indestructible, so you can make them in ethereal weapons.

Regarding mercs (whose equipment doesn't lose durability, so ethereal items are fine for them), Obedience is is comparable, but better IMO and needs no expensive runes at all. Twice as much CB, a bit more damage, ctc enchant adds a nice boost to attack rating which, in contrast to ITD, works versus bosses as well and FHR is very, very useful on mercs. Allres, -req and +str/vit are pretty nice as well.

I don't think +vit does anything for mercs

I don't think so either. They only benefit from +strength and +dexterity.
