    Desirable Rare Rings

What are the more desirable rare rings? I always find some and think some are nice and some aren't, but I'm wrong too often. I don't know what each build looks for.

What are the max mods for the desired mods? What would be worth keeping?

Basically all I'm doing now is looking for FCR or ATR, life, str, dex, resist, and life/mana, but I don't know how much of each is worth keeping or in what combination.

    Thanks

Dual leech is also useful for PvM. BTW, 5% mana leech might be more desirable than 6% because of level reqs.

There are magical rings with more than 30%MF (which is what a Nagelring can offer), but that's probably the only kind of magic ring worth keeping and the combination is so rare that it doesn't make magic rings worth picking up and identifying IMO. I think that gambling is the usual way to get them, but even though I probably gambled thousends of rings, I never had one like that.

I did get lucky on a 33mf ring.

I forgot to mention I was looking mostly for PvP since PvM rings are pretty straight forward. There aren't too many PvE end game builds.

Interesting statement, personally I'd say the strength with D2 is that pretty much any build is "end game" with the right gear.

Yeah I think D2 is still 80% a PvE game. Its really in the top echelon of games that have fun, repeatable endgame content and dont just rely on the cheap copout of "PvP is endgame".

"Must Have" mods for a tradable ring are LL, ML, or Dual Leech, or 10 FCR. "Bonus Mods" that define a ring's value include Str, Dex, RA, MF. Other useful mods are AR, +Max Damage (on leech rings), Life, Mana, LR, FR. At least thats how it breaks down for me...

I realize a lot of classes can be played PvE at end game, but 20% of those builds are 80% of the population.

There are a bunch of PvP classes that I don't know the details about so I'm mostly curious as to what is important to builds like BvC, Glass cannon zons, trapper, PnB necros, windy druids, etc.

but the fact that 20% of builds make up 80% of the population is due to the cookie cutter builds & fashion / epeen, not the fact the other builds aren't "end game". Lets face it, probably 70% (figure i guessed) of the end game chars are sorcs or pallies, but this doesn't mean all the other builds that the kiddies chose not to play aren't end game:).

    Re: Desirable Rare Rings

    Physical Damage
    Attack Rating
    Resistances
    Strength
    Dexterity
    Life
    Maximum Damage
    Minimum Damage

    Physical Damage that Teleports
    FCR
    Attack Rating
    Resistances
    Strength
    Dexterity
    Life
    Maximum Damage
    Minimum Damage

    Caster
    Mana
    Resistances
    FCR
    Dexterity
    Strength
    Life

I've overloaded affixes, so keep that in mind. You basically need to learn to judge for yourself. Take for example:

    10 Attack Rating
    5 Fire Resistance
    12 Strength
    10 Faster Cast Rate
    11 Life

Although it has a bunch of desirable mods, it's still junk. "Almost there, but not quite".

    Re: Desirable Rare Rings

+10 FCR with other good mods (resists and AR or Stats) the most commonly sought.
You need 2 of them with a 10% FCR Ammy to hit 30% FCR.
