Desert Merc twink stick

    Came across a 15% eth Halberd in my 1.07 stashes, decided to poke some holes in it:

    Want to socket with low level items, so hired merc can use immediately (lvl 13, 64 str?). I've got some options on what to stick in there. Any votes/advice/suggestions? I usually go with 'Insight' at lvl 27, so mostly this guy will see A2 action. Should I go more dmg to undead or just %ED? Plan on using Sigon's combo (10% LL), and can put amethyst in those if needed (+6/+12 str). I don't have any good low lvl jewels 'of freedom'. Should I reserve one socket for -15% req?

    I think youll need one Amethyst in your Sigon's Shelter, and you'll then be good to go for strength on all equipment.
    Usually a Savage "whatever polearm he can equip" already destroys Act II players 8, so you might be veering into the realm of overkill. I'd personally just stick to good Rusty jewels for what you're trying to do.

    You should be able to use Wrath jewels so 20% 9 max dmg +extras if rare. You shouldn't need a Freedom Jewel as Sigon's Shelter needs 70 Str, so if you stick a regular amethyst into that you are all set for everything. Unless you have a pair of sexy Freedom Jewels for your Stick and your Shelter.

    - Yea, I like the sound of overkill. :D

    - Forgot to check that. I guess I'll go amethyst in Sigon's Visor, and should be good to go.

    I do have a couple of Freedom jewels. #1 is quite tasty, but req lvl 14!?!?!

    I guess non-wep ED is probably unnecessary. So, probably do Visor w/amethyst, Shelter w/topaz, and big stick with mix of jewels. Looking at:
    +110% Dmg +80 AR undead
    +87% ED, +9 max
    1-3 cold, 1-20 lite, 4-19 fire

    ** Double checking all my stashes, make sure I didn't overlook any jools. :rolleyes:

    **Any ideas on Civerb Vestment Druid builds?? Thinking of Summoner + Hunger or Shockwave Werebear? This set already sux for melee. :eek:

    My mercs are usually fine with Dimoaks's Hew and Sigon's helm+armor until they can wear Insight, but that one will certainly do a much better job. Nice! Something has to be done with all those jewels.

    Does he meet the str req at L13? I remember that mine have a problem with Sigon's at first which needs 65 str as well.

    Edit: He missed the req by one point, but the polearm has +1 str. Str-bugging is not a problem anyway BTW, as merc equipment doesn't drop on the ground upon death.
