Definitively - the highest skill levels

I decided to sit down and calculate the absolute highest level skill a character could possibly have. Mostly because I was a little bored, as
anyone actually using this setup would have serious problems in relation to resists, FHR, IAS etc etc.

I calculated the following, and also took into account + to Individual skills. And all of these can be accomplished legitimately. Apologies for being so long.


Fire Sorc

Using Warmth, Inferno or Firebolt.

+ 3 Circlet (Volcanic)
+ 3 Volcanic Amulet
+ 9 Leaf runeword staff, with inherent +3 to Warmth,Inferno or Firebolt
+ 2 Armour
+ 2 Rings
+ 1 Arachnid Mesh
+ 1 Magefist
+ 11 Charms

= + 32 skills

Breakdown:

+ 6 All Skills (Armour, Rings, Arachnid Mesh, Annihilus)
+ 20 Fire skills (Circlet, Amulet, Leaf staff, Grand Charms)
+ 6 individual skill (Leaf staff)

= Level 52 Warmth, Inferno or Firebolt. Level 53 if affected by Battle Command.


Fire Druid

Any of the fire skills maxed.

+ 6 from pelt (Gaean; +3 individual skill)
+ 3 Gaean Amulet
+ 7 Earthshifter
+ 2 Armour
+ 2 Rings
+ 1 Arachnid Mesh
+ 1 Magefist
+ 11 Charms

= + 33 skills

Breakdown:

+ 6 All Skills (Armour, Rings, Arachnid Mesh, Annihilus)
+ 23 Elemental Skills (Pelt, Amulet, Earthshifter, Grand Charms)
+ 1 Fire Skills (Magefist)
+ 3 Individual Skill (Pelt)

= Level 53 Fire Skill of your choice. Level 54 if affected by Battle Command.


Frenzy Barb

Using Frenzy of course.

+ 6 Barb Helm (Masters; + 3 Frenzy)
+ 3 Masters Amulet
+ 10 dual wielding Fury runeword weapons
+ 2 Armour
+ 2 Rings
+ 1 Arachnid Mesh
+ 11 Charms

= + 35 skills

Breakdown:

+ 6 All Skills (Armour, Rings, Arachnid Mesh, Annihilus)
+ 16 Combat skills (Helm, Amulet, Grand Charms)
+ 13 individual skill (helm, dual Fury)

= Level 55 Frenzy. Level 56 if affected by Battle Command.


Skeleton Necro

Using Skeleton Mastery.

+ 3 Circlet (Golemlords)
+ 3 Golemlords Amulet
+ 7 White runeword wand, with inherent +3 to Skeleton Mastery
+ 6 Totem (Golemlords; +3 Skeleton Mastery)
+ 2 Armour
+ 2 Rings
+ 1 Arachnid Mesh
+ 2 Marrowwalk
+ 11 Charms

= + 37 skills

Breakdown:

+ 6 All Skills (Armour, Rings, Arachnid Mesh, Annihilus)
+ 19 Summoning skills (Circlet, Amulet, Totem, Grand Charms)
+ 12 individual skill (White wand, Totem, Marrowwalk)

= Level 57 Skeleton Mastery. Level 58 if affected by Battle Command.


Martial Arts Assassin

Using any martial arts skill.

+ 3 Circlet (Kenshi's)
+ 3 Kenshi's Amulet
+ 12 Dual wielding Kenshi's claws, with +3 to an individual skill
+ 2 Armour
+ 2 Rings
+ 1 Arachnid Mesh
+ 3 Kenshi's gloves
+ 11 Charms

= + 37 skills

Breakdown:

+ 6 All Skills (Armour, Rings, Arachnid Mesh, Annihilus)
+ 25 Martial Arts skills (Circlet, Amulet, dual claws, Gloves, Grand Charms)
+ 6 individual skill (Dual claws)

= Level 57 Martial Arts skill. Level 58 if affected by Battle Command.


So there you have it. Let me know if I calculated wrong anywhere.

Ah yes... The Skill Shrines. I always seem to forget about those.

Wow - a legit (albeit unlikely) skill level of 60. :surprise:

You forgot to list Ormus Robes under Fire Sorc, which would bring either Fire Bolt or Inferno to lvl 53.

Don't forget about bonespear! You can get 8 to bonespear on a white and 3 on a head. Thats 11 and even better than leaf =)
dunno about other gear. whats the max bonespear level?

Well, I didn't say these were the only ways to get the highest skill levels. These are only the ones I thought of :bonk:

Hmmm, highest warcry? let's see...

+8 bonespear wand would be 1 more then +7 skele mastery, but you you wouldn't get +2 skills from boots. Bone armor can match skeleton mastery with a +9 (!!!) bone armor wand.

There is an article here on Diabloii.net that discusses the affects of +to skills on the rouge merc. they got as much plus to skills stuff as they could on the merc and it was around +140 to skills.

Edit: it is 112. give 19 for mercs natural levels and that leaves 93. thats a lotta + to skillz! See it Here!

Those skills don't work anymore. They did for .09, but blizzard disabled them for 1.10. Also, all that was done in singleplayer with non-legit stuff (legitness was the intent of the thread-maker), but I'm sure you already know that.

What about artic blast? +20 skill points invested in artic blast, +14 from frostwind, +6 from pelt, +3 ammy, +1 shield, +2 armor, +2 rings, +1 belt, +10 skill GC, +1 anni = total of level 60 artic blast !!!!!

Frostwind's +14 to artic blast is capped at only +3 when worn by the druid. Same thing with Flamebellow (inferno skill) when worn by the sorceress.

Skill Points that work for Any Class ("oskill" Skill Points)
The Trang-Oul's Avatar Set gives +18 to Fireball and +13 to Fire Wall. The boost to fireball (as well as Frostwind's arctic blast bonus and a whole lot of other items) are examples of what's internally known as an "oskill". These are skill bonuses that work for any class. If a Necromancer is wearing a Trang-Oul set, he'll get +18 fireball and any +X To All Skills equipment can further increase this. The same applies to all other non-sorceress class wearing a part of that set. However, oskills work differently for classes that "own" that skill. In this case, it's a Sorceress getting a bonus to Fireball. In the other case, it was a Druid getting a bonus to Arctic Blast. If a character gets an oskill bonus to a skill that class "owns," the bonus is restricted to a maximum of +3. If a Barbarian is dual-wielding Call to Arms runeword weapons, the +3 cap is applied to the total from both weapons. This is all intentional, in order to balance these items.

Lets see... (taking into consideration that the inferno skill can only be increased with +'s to all skills)

2 Ammys
2 Helm
1 Belt
1 Annihilus
2 Armor

18 + 18 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 = slvl 46 Inferno
So no, dual Flamebellows would not the best.

Edit: I'm unsure about whether or not Magefist's +1 to Fire Skills (all classes) would increase the inferno's slvl, so 46 may be a 47. However, that doesn't change anything, as it's still relatively low, compared to the others.
