Decent Budget Vehicle System?

Decent Budget Vehicle System?

So I'm going to be buying a 1999 Ford F-150 single cab for a work truck. Since it doesn't come with a cd player, that is a must and where this all started. I was looking through some cheap head units and got told the Kenwood KDC-MP342U was about the best you could get for performance and price. Since I will be spending quite a bit of time in this truck I also want it to sound good playing any type of music. My current work truck has a older 10'' sub and a little amp that I got from a friend for cheap. In a single cab a 10'' sub is plenty and I pretty much love how it sounds. After getting the receiver would any one have any suggestions for a cheap sub and amp combo? I was looking at the Rockford Fosgate Prime 10'' sub and a RF Prime amp. Comments/Suggestions?

Thanks, but I'm looking for separate sub and amp. Gonna mount the sub inside the center console and hang the amp on the back. Trying to keep as much space inside the truck as I can.

Rockford Fosgate and Kenwood are as good as they come. At least that's 2 out of 3 things you're buying that's quality.

That would be all 3. Kenwood headunit, Rockford Sub and Amp(just said RF cause I'm lazy). I was just wondering if anyone had more experience/knowledge with sub/amp combos, I'm good at installing them but not so great with pairing them up.

I counted the RF amp and sub as one. The other one is not audio related.

You only need about 60w rms to get a good loud bass. The RF I recall seems much stronger than say another brand that's rated 200w or more.

I used to run 150w x 2 15inch back in the days when "we like the cars, the cars that goes boom, we're tigra and bunney, and we like the boom" days....

only 150w to 2x 15's, should have sounded weak

back in the day i had two sony m3 amps (1000rms ea bridged at 4ohm) going to 1x 18 audiobahn in a cavalier

had an extra battery in the trunk, and still went through 3 alternators before i took the system out, still have a blown 250a wafer fuse from it

it wasnt loud, everything just shook, played bass test cd's below 5hz flawlessly, the roof moved up and down about 3in
