Debatable questions about barb stats...

Well I recently started diablo after a few years and decided to make an axe barb. I'm gearing towards a BvB barb but one that can also tackle BvC in most cases. I have 105 base str, 55 dex and 40 vit. I was thinking of pumping extra stats into dex for max block and extra ar in lieu of the all vit build. Is this wise? What are the pros and cons? How are my stats so far?
Please list all opinions and answers here please; I will not use my 30 stats points until some feedback. Thank you all!
(keep in mind i am broke as hell, will probably get rich in the future ;])

For BvB you'll NEED max block. Being `broke as hell´ doesn't make that any easier though :)

The dex you need is dependant on your shield. Using the search function and browsing the stickys will get you the exact formula to calculate the needed dexterity. For BvB Stormshield is second to none, so you might want to calculate accordingly. Do note that it requires 156 strength to wear as well.

Yes use stormshield, try to obtain 1 jewel with 7fhr/dex/str if possible and -15reg.

If it exist it will be hard to get, but atleast 7fhr/9dex/-15req or 9dex/-15 into it.

When you have it equipped, just open your stat window, hold mouse over block and se what % is showing, if its lower than 75, keep pumping hard dex into your stats until 75 shows.

The added vita from not using dex for blocking is simply not enough for the amount of extra hits that your going to take vs a shielded 75% block BvB.

IMO the odds of 2 barbs just straight up ww'ing each other, shielded vs unshielded aren't too far off from 10 to 1 in terms of hitting. So really, even if you could push out another 1000 life, use some fancy footwork to dodge a few attacks and score an extra hit or so, the odds are still going to be against you without a shield.

Part of the trouble is that defense numbers alone don't have alot of weight vs other melee char's with decent attack rating. So even if you want to try high eth-bugged armour, you'd see that it isn't all that helpfull.
