Honestly the "N" does very little to help. When you have 4-5 spam bots that join all spamming ~20 lines each you're basically pressing N until they all leave. Might as well just let the spam sit on your screen it's more or less the same thing.

Level restricting games is certainly your best option, but I have seen lvl 90+ bots although they are much less common than the lvl 1's.

Try leaving the text on screen until the bots leave whilst being surrounded by a group of gloams, minotuars et all!

Personally I use passworded games. Seems to sort out the majority of problems with bots.

What bothers me most of all spambots is that nowadays I occasionally get a private message from spambots. So even using passworded games dont save you from their existance (it only reduces the overall annoyance)

Yes, I find that your chances of getting a private message from a spambot go up dramatically if you enter chat. :yuck:

Btw, you do know that you can set your own default chat channel, right? Just thought I'd mention it in case someone has missed it and still passes through the spambot infested default channels ...

Hehe, even in hellmode spambots won't leave me alone. Though less than in normal mode, there is still a sufficient number of spambots (lv's 4-5-6) that manage to join public hell games.


Pardon the expression but it fricking sucks.
