    DDR anyone?

does any one play, or have played DDR? i went over to a freinds house today and played it for the first time. my main problem with it is that my views and the views of one of the other people who i played it with differed. he liked trying to get good by doing the haredst songs because he liked the muisic (his favourite song is the harest level, orion. even the guy who onws the game cant get higher than a c in the easy mode, and he can usualy get a's in normal) and thinks that its better to get good by doing impossibly hard songs for a beginer, ones that i just givce up and just eihter dont dance at all, or just try to make a pattern to try to get as many as possible. i say that you should practice in the easy ones first (because they have a better beat and are better to devope skills in). that aside, i had a blast. niw i just need to find a copy of it for the Dream cast, as i dont have a PS2. anyhow, do you guys play DDR, how good are you, what type of music do you likein the game, etc.?

I tried DDR (or some variation of it) once at the local arcade. I ended up having to use my hands as well as my feet. Needless to say, it wasn't a good experience.

I'm suck at this game as well. I bought DDR Disney mix a while back and I gotta tell you that this version is a good beginner's version.

If you go to places like arcade with a hardcore player playing it, watch and learn their steps. Many of them don't bring their feet back to the middle of the pad during the songs. Don't jump so high, as it'll make you tired out faster than usual.

I own DDR with two pads. I own DDR Konamix, DDRMAX, and DDRMAX2 for the PS1 and PS2. I also have Stepmania, which is a DDR emulator on my computer and have a converter so I can use my PS2 DDR pad for the computer. I also play regualary at the arcades. Yeah, I am not a DDR freak. :innocent:

I'm OK at DDR. If you are a beginner, I'd recommend that you try the beginner's steps. They really do help.

My younger brother's friend is so awesome that he plays 2 person's mode all by himself, and I'm not joking. He hardly misses any steps, either.

    He's a freak.

    Dance Dance Revolution

    there's a flash version here

The real version is played with a pad that you have to step on to the beat of the music. I've never played the real version.. but someday i'll have a pad methinks.

    Amen to that.

I play DDR everyday and love it. I started playing just about 4 years ago and i guess im pretty good. I can pass Sakura on Heavy(this only goas out to the people who knows the game) But im also very good at stepmania. I downloaded many of the 12 foot+ simfiles and can AA most of them (On the keyboard that is) :)

Also for any of you that enjoy DDR theres another game called pump it up that i actually enjoy more than DDR for several reasons.

1.its a lot harder in many ways
2.it has better songs mainley because of a group called BANYA
3.ive played pump it up longer hence i like it more :)

I saw something on TechTv, maybe a show called "Extended Play" where they interviewed a young woman that had lost upwards of seventy pounds in a year from playing DDR for hours upon hours. Much like I do with KOTOR and used to with the unmentionable.

I've played a couple of times. One time I went to an arcade, where they had the 'real' good dance pad. The guy who was doing it was insanely good. He did a backflip to a handstand to hit the correct arrows, it was insane.
