Damage reduction and Fade.

Damage reduction and Fade.

2 quick questions:
1. Can you use fade along with DR gear to have more than 50% DR?
2. Could a high level SW coupled with high level fade break the 50% cap given that she spawns with 40% DR?

I'm thinking no one the first and maybe on the second.

1. No. The 50% DR cap is a hard cap for players. Fade will contribute towards that cap, but not help you break it.

2. Minions do not have any caps on any of their resistance values. Fade wouldn't help her "break" the cap, since she has no cap to begin with. In fact, if you could somehow get her to cast a slvl 60 Fade, she would become physically immune. If you get her to cast a more reasonable slvl 20 Fade, she'll have 60% physical resistance.

While physical immunity is pretty much impossible to achieve (it would require some one-in-a-million gear-spawns on a Shadow Master), it's a cake-walk to get an elementally immune Shadow using Fade. If her Fade plus her innate resistances total more than 100%, (which they almost certainly will if you're using a decent level of Fade and Shadow), that value won't be capped or reduced in any way- your Shadow will actually have 100+% resistances.

The one drawback is that Conviction operates at full effectiveness even against elementally immune shadows, but it's a small price to pay.
