Yeah, 50% is a cap for percentage based DR, but you can have as much as you like of straight damage reduction("damage reduced by X" mode).

Which one comes first? % or X?

if % then this might sound interesting...

From Arreat Summit the average monster damage in Hell is 100 or less.

So if you get 50% PDR and 50 DR you become "Physically immune"?

    Re: Damage reduced

Flat DR comes before percentage based DR.

Around 100 iDR/PDR you start to negate most of the attacks from Hell monsters. Stuff that does hurt will be critical hits(double damage), Might, Fanaticism and Extra Strong. Those all step up monster damage quite a bit against a PDR/iDR equipment setup.

SSoG's abbott Paladin takes advantage of PDR by maxing prayer and running meditation/cleansing full time to replenish the life taken by attacks that do over your flat DR number.

His guide, which is located over on the Amazon Basin, goes through it in more detail if you care for a good read.

The cap on %DR Vs. Monster attacks is 50%. There's also a 100%DR cap Vs. Crushing blow attacks. I'm not too sure anyone would want a Crushing Blow immune character, but it's possible..

    Thanks for the response!

There is a link pointing to this guide in his Charger forum, but for some reason I "don't have permission"

Maybe I'll check the amazon basin for it.
