D2pk question

I heard d2pk is a private realm for dueling. Just one question how do you get items for it and how do you level up? Is it like open than cant it be hacked or overpowered items?

you get rush from someone,
then after about 20 dead cows you are lvl 99
items are movable/roll-able so its pretty easy to gear decent char
also since this week we have torches and some crazy pvm events added.
if you are located on the east coast you should def check it out

Anyone know off-hand what the ping's like from oztraylia? I'm used to 200+ on West from here at the moment anyway...

I linked in from europe yesterday and my ping was about 200-250, which is too high for many classes, but hey .. paladins might be playable =]

you get rush from someone,
then after about 20 dead cows you are lvl 99
items are movable/roll-able so its pretty easy to gear decent char
also since this week we have torches and some crazy pvm events added.
if you are located on the east coast you should def check it out

movable items?? what exactly does that mean?
I have been thinking about joining to, but the thought of starting over....

oh i meant mfable my bad.
you start and you ahve a fully geared char in about a day , the realm is made for pvp not to waste time mfing

So installing and changing these things, does this mean you have to remove everything to play regular USEast again?

they are not related at all its like making char on another realm really, you get to keep you rchars on east/west etc , you make new chars on d2pk,
its priv moderated realm so there is no scamming when tradeing , all the to of the line uniques are mfable , you can roll rares/charms pretty much its made so you can very fast gear chars to duel with

Hm, I read all the stuff on how to install it, but the patch you have to install is not there, so I was wondering if you need it or not? Also how do you know when you can go or if you are on d2pk? Does it say your on a different gateway or anything different?

go to downloads section and you will see a link to patch 1.13b d/l it.
follow the instalation instructions as listed in the getting started forum.
then as a last step install 1.13b. note there is an ip posted in the instructions too. make sure you enter that in the gateway editor for d2, not warcraft/starcraft.
when you log on make sure you select d2pk not east/west/euro etc.
