    D2 Installation error

I need help with a D2 Installation error. I cant find the answer in b.net techincal support or anywhere else. Here's the error.

    D2char.mpq
Error 0x00000017: Data error (Cyclic Redundancy check)
    (SafeSF .cpp:67)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Is it a valid copy?

    2. If it is, your cd is probably damaged. Can you borrow a copy from someone else or something to see if that works? (install it with your cd-key then, of course).

    3. You can also try to install it on a different computer to check if the problem is with your disk or not.

Did you try cleaning off the surface of the cd and then trying to to install again?
