D/A/E Question

I took this from a stickied guide: I advise against getting a valkyrie as dodge / avoid / evade will cause your attacks to miss occasionally and they are not needed to be safe.

I looked over my skill tree and I don't understand this statement. How would D/A/E cause my attacks to miss more?

Thanks.

yes. Every attack, and every action for that matter, take serveral frames to complete. If you happen to do a d/a/e/ during those frames that you attack, there is a chance take your computer will show the attack normally, though the server will make you d/e/a. So it will seem that you have done your attack, though the monsters don't take any damage. Therefore, the monsters don't die. If you are very unlucky, you may end up doing that much d/e/a that you can't attack for serveral seconds.

Is this a problem? Some say yes, others say no. However, it is very depending on what build you are going to use. Close to no fend user will every have points in d/e/a while nearly all bowazon - physical - wil have one point in them. Its often more a question about valk versus the d/e/a, then a question concerning d/e/a.

Flayer packs = constant d/e/a = constant attacks that don't trigger.
Try running Nith with a decent amount of d/e/a and you will see what they mean. (flayer packs spawn there all the time) It's almost impossible to get off an attack if you are standing still getting hit by them, (You will see the strafe/LF/whatever animation trigger but nothing dies) since the constant triggering of d/e/a means that you are almost always in the d/e/a animation sequence and thus an attack wont trigger.

Personally, I use them anyway. Valk/Decoy can keep whatever is hitting you occupied long enough to attack. I think it really depends on the build and your personal tastes.

Doesn't this apply to block/zeal as well? Or am I remembering that wrong.
