cyclone armor, heal?

hellas my fellas

Just wondering, as it was looong time ago when I played druid -

does it makes sense maxing your resistances when you have maxed cyclone armor? What I have heard is that when running with maxed cyclone armor on, you do not need max res, or it doesn't help a lot, as CA is absorbing all and even healing you when absorbing elemental dmg? How is it working, CA + res or CA + no res or low resistances?

cyclone absorbs all elemental damage (fire, lighting, cold), poison will still affect you as its not considered elemental damage. cyclone doesnt heal you it just nullifies the damage.

some people think its good to get max res still for that split second cyclone drops and you recast it (im assuming with a windy druid here), but i think its a waste to get max res with cyclone armor on.

One of my favorite tricks with my windy in 1.10 was to teleport right on top of the really godly fireball sorcs that would always seem to find my pub melee games and spam cyclone armor, while stacking on as much +cold/-cold res as I could without losing a frame (i.e. keeping at least 99% fcr). The result : most sorcs don't stack cold resistance, and by constantly recasting CA, they'd 99% of the time succumb to Hurricane, especially if they had ES up, as Hurracane would decimate their mana. Might try it some time

The only resistance I would bother to max with Cyclone Armor would be LR. Seeing as how fire nor cold will rip it down fast, and its usually Souls who give you that little window were it is down. I do the same thing with ES. I would however like to at least have positive res, which shouldn't be hard to get.

Max poison res, nothing more annoying then getting nicked by one of those undead mummies and dropping to one life in four seconds.
