Currency

Currency

So I just got back into D2 and I'm a little confused on the currency. Obviously everyone prefers runes, and obviously some runes have more value than others... but what exactly is each value? Just from playing for a few days, this is what I've kinda sorta learned...

---------------------------------------------

HR = Mal, Ist, Vex, Ohm, Lo, Sur, Ber, Jah, Cham, Zod
Preffered HR's = Ohm, Vex, Lo, Ber, Jah
Not preffered HR's = Mal, Ist, Sur, Cham, Zod

(Are people just really picky on HR's? Or are some runes that are literally high in rank not considered HR's?)

---------------------------------------------

And as far as change goes...

Lem = 1/6 HR
Pul + Gul = 1/3 HR
Um = 2/3 HR
Mal, Ist, Cham, Zod = 2/3 - 1 HR?

Anyways, I would gladly appreciate someone helping me out to fully understand the currency before I go and start selling and buying stuff. Thanks! :wave:

Re: Currency

Well these values would really depend on your realm and whether if it's ladder or non ladder. For example, on east non ladder, hrs would include ohm, jah, vex, ber, ist, mal, and sometimes um, whereas Lo, which is preferred by ladder players, has much less value on nonladder markets. Also currency include stuff like pgems as well. For a more in depth answer check your price guide for your realm in the trade values forums.

Re: Currency

I'm not sure what realm you are on. But for WSCL

HR= Vex and up
Ist and Mal=HR, sometimes up to Hr+pul . These are usually in higher demand becuase they are required in a lot of high end runewords.

Pul=Gul=1/2Um
Um= 2/3 to 1 Hr depending.

Zod, Cham and Sur are HR's and usually will be traded as such, although not as desireable.

Re: Currency

The "which HRs are HRs" thing mainly deals with which ones are useful in the high-level runewords (ie. Zod, Cham, and Sur don't go into too many highly-desired runewords, therefore almost universally aren't taken as HRs).

Edit: Reading back, moneymango pretty much covered it, though in my experience they're almost never accepted unless someone is actively looking for that particular one.

Re: Currency

Smallest change is the almighty Perfect Gem. Cube flawless gems to make them. Note that perfect amethysts are used in crafting and are worth more than other pgems; normally pammies = 2 pgems but this shows that a 1:7 ratio is quite possible. Perfect skulls are usually accepted as pgems.

Then you have runes or keys. Keys decrease in value as torches become more common. Among low runes, the value of runes is driven by crafters. Look for what crafters want and cube there (Ral runes are popular).

Currently Ral is roughly two pgems on USEast.

After that it's Ko (around 10 pgems on USEast). Lem is twenty. Pul is forty. After Pul the value of runes is affected less by rarity and more by demand, and also depends on how much rune duping there is.

Currently on USEast Um is about 40-80 pgems. Gul is worth less than Um.

Mal and Ist are not technically extraordinarily rare, but the demand for them is high.
Sur, Cham and Zod are rare but the demand for them is less.

Ohm, Vex, Lo, Ber, and Jah are HRs.

Hope that helps!
