Cubing a Jeweler's wirefleece of the Stab

I wanted to try to actually do this. I'm cloudy on some issues though:

I counted up the spawnable mods for a magical armor, which I found here; http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/

I looks like 25 prefixes and 42-45 suffixes, I lost count I was just trying to get a rough estimate for plausibilty.

So 1/25 x 1/44 = .009 So average 9 times out of every 10,000 cubes using an ilvl 99 magical wirefleece should give a j wf of the s. Assuming my math is right the part I'm cloudy on is this, I assume I can improve my chances by cutting out the high ilvl prefixes/suffixes that are above jeweler's and stab. I couldn't understand if the numbers in ( ) on the site above list those or where I might find them. And finally what ilvl magical armor has the best chances of cubing my armor in question? What are the odds at that ilvl?

Thanks to anyone who can give me a hand.

I think the chances will be much lower since you are not guranteed to get 2 mods every time.

    taken from AS:

"When Magic Items are created the chances are:

    Both Prefix and Suffix: 25%
    Only a Prefix: 25%
    Only a Suffix: 50%
    "
so multiply 1/4 to your probability... good luck :p

Not all affixes are created equally. Some will occur more commonly than others. Assuming you meant "of Stability" and not "of the Stab," you'll cube those mods out of a level 99 wirefleece, only 1 time in 17761 tries.

You are also being a little wasteful. "Jeweler's" is alvl 55 (the highest possible for a prefix), but "of Stability" is only alvl 18, and there are multiple affixes with alvl between 55 and 99. You're best bet would be to have your wirefleece be ilvl 77 to 79 (yielding alvl 55-59). That would give you a 1 in 16561 chance. You won't be able to do better than that.

If you want to do the calculations yourself, you can use the affix calculator.

What if I am trying for a Jeweler's wf of stability/whale. Either of those armors. The "whale" mod is alvl 50. So I can still get it using the ilvl 77 magical wirefleece.

The chances are 1/22081 (0.004528) for jwfotw, and 1/16561 (0.006038) for jwfots. How would I figure the chance or cubing either? Is it as simple as adding the percentages? That doesn't seem right. Anybody know the answer to this one?

Yea i'm pretty sure it's simple addition to something like 0.01%

Yea I thought that at first, but 1 out of every 100 cubes just seems too good to be true. Let's see if anyone else confirms us.

If you want to know the chance of either one of the two occurences happening you simply add the chances, yes.

Am I mistaken? Adding the above numbers = 0.010566

So on average one out of every hundred cubes with an ilvl 77 magical wirefleece should render a jeweler's wf of the whale (90+) or stability (24% fhr). Obviously it could be 10,000 rolls, but bad luck aside. Tenths column, hundredths column. That number seems much to large to me.

Those numbers are percentages, divide by 100 then do ^-1 for average number of tries, which is 1 in 9463 for either of the Whale or of Stability along with Jeweler's.

im pretty sure (no offense), his chances of rolling that armor are wayy higher than him getting a date with britney spears.

I think it would go faster and cheaper to reset an armor vendor time after time... sure there won't be Wire Fleece's all that often but getting 3pgems takes some time aswell, and who knows what you might find sweeping the screen for other Jeweler's something of the godly suffix

You can't shop wire fleece at a vendor.
You could try to shop a jewelers archon plate of the whale / stability though.

Because of that and because of the existence of shop-bots in the past people value non-shoppable armors (leather elite types) much higher.

Yea, that's why I'm looking for a wirefleece one. I have some stuff I could trade to get lots of pgems.
