Cube Sockets

Hi,

I am trying to find an elite light armor for lionheart. Instead of trying to trade, i've been finding normal white ones and using the cube recipe tal thul and p topaz.

I was wondering if this is affected in any way by clvl. I keep trying and get 4 sockets all the time. Thx for any help.

Hmm, I understand your frustration for finding socketed armor. Hunting for 4 socketed armor only yielded 3 socketed wire fleece and boneweave.

Make sure the armor you use is Gray lettered. Would be a bad moment to find out white lettered 3 socketed armor did not work.

Along that same line, I attempted to use the cube recipe to add a socket to the gray lettered 3 socketed armor. It did not work. I guess the item must start with zero sockets and then you have a chance to get the max sockets when delved in the cube or with the Act V socket quest.

I still have the 3 socketed wire fleece and boneweave stashed. I made lionheart with diamond mail. I became impatient.

I play US West Ladder *getricmulryan is the primary account. Trade could be worked I am sure.

find cracked, damaged, or low quality elite armor.

use cube recipe: 1 el rune + 1 chipped gem + low quality armor = normal quality armor of same type. output = ilvl 1

then use this armor for the socket recipe: 1 tal + 1 thul + ptopaz + normal body armor = socketed body armor of same type.

because the first recipe caused the item to be reset to ilvl1, it can't get 4 sockets. now comes the part i'm not sure about, and hopefully shade or alainpp will aswer this. will it get max sockets (3) every time or can it still get 1-2?

I believe the cube recipe will still be able to give it 1-4 sockets, even if Ilvl is set to 1

-instead you can use Larzuk, since the amount of sockets from him depends on Ilvl, he will give any elite armor with Ilvl1 =3 sockets

is this always true? if so i can find/trade a sup archon or dusk then cube it to ilvl1 then take it to larzuk for 3 sockets? that could earn a fortune if it always add 3 socks...!

A superior armor cant be cubed to Ilvl1- the recipe only works with
broken/cracked/low quality armor
