CTC/damage order?

Just a little thing I was wondering about the other day.

1. When you hit a monster and have some "CTC when striking" gear on, which happens first, the damage or the CTC roll?

2. When a cursed monster hits you, does the chance of cursing or the damage happen first? This one might hold some relevance if the curse happens first, since that would make cursed monsters dangerous even before they land the first hit.

I'm pretty sure that the curse happens first.

This opinion is based on my memories of thousands of Pindleskin runs - when he's not cursed a random charge will remove like ~300 points from my sorc, and when he is it's ~600. It's rare enough that I get hit at all, so two hits in one run is even more rare, and I don't remember ever getting cursed and only loosing ~300 damage when I get charged.
