Crystal sword dropped by regular monster in wl2 how many sockets?

I was wondering how many sockets would a crystal sword dropped by a regular monster in the worldstone level 2 normal difficulty, get if i socket it with larzurk?. Hoping for 4, so i can make spirit.

crystal sword can go up to 6s, but cuz of the ilvl luzurk probably give u 3s.

WSK 2 normal is a L40 area, so regular monsters are L40. According to here, that sword will get 6 sockets. However, that's 1.09 information and with 1.10 the level breakpoints might have changed by 1, so a L40 crystal sword might still get 4 sockets. Apart from that, the table is still accurate AFAIK, except for diadems and the like. Better get a crystal sword in an area with a level not being that near to the breakpoints.

Perhaps you have a socket quest reward left on a nonladder character, so you can check that with a different weapon found in WSK 2 normal.

Myrakh is quite correct. Monsters only take their level from the area in Nightmare and Hell. In normal, they keep their base level (which you could look up on Arreat Summit's monster pages, for example). Chests do still use the area level, even in normal.

kris, those ilvl ranges have always been wrong. Someone misread a <= sign as < and it has never been corrected. The ranges are and have always been 1-25, 26-40, and 41+.

Unfortunately, the WSK 2 contains two kinds of monsters, Greater Hellspawn and boss packs of Blood Lords. The Hellspawn are base 41, the Blood lords would only be 40 - except that they aren't, because they are boss packs, they will be at least 42. However, the area level is 40. So, the complete answer is:

Only if it dropped from a chest will it get 4s from Larzuk. If a monster dropped it, it will get 6.
