Question About Cb

I havent been on much since 1.10 , im wondering why is evryone wanting high crushing blow, whats it become? or what does it do more exactly?

Crushing Blow
This is a chance of reducing a monster's health by X% in a single blow.

-Default: 1/4th
-vs. Players: 1/10th
-vs. Hirelings: 1/10th
-vs. Champions, Uniques, Bosses: 1/8th
-with missile weapons, default: 1/8th
-with missile weapons, vs. Players: 1/20th
-with missile weapons, vs Hirelings: 1/20th
-with missile weapons, vs Champions, Uniques, Bosses: 1/16th​
-The life removed is also scaled with number of players. So that if a monster has 450% more life due to 8 players (or whatever the value is) the life removed is further reduced by the same amount (450% would equal multiplying by 4.5 so the life removed by Crushing Blow is divided by 4.5).
Physical resistance does apply to Crushing Blow damage, but only if the resistance is positive. Crushing Blow Items stack in most cases. In 1.10 Crushing Blow is calculated before your normal damage. So, before doing the damage that you would normally do, there is a chance you will reduce the health of the monster by X% then normal damage apply to the resulting lower life. If you have more than one item with Crushing Blow, the probabilities will be added together. There will be one random check for a Crushing Blow. There is no check for each separate item, so one can not get multiple Crushing Blows in one attack.

so in short its a very good way to take down high hp monsters much faster.

to give you a example in a single game hell baal has about 500000 hp

with one meele CB hit you take that hp down with 500000/8=62500

note that the 62500 damage is before your normal physical damage

so if you do huge normal damage its even better.

myself i never say no to a mod that can give me 62500 extra damage in the first hit.

disclaimer: CB wont give you a extra 62500 damage all the time because its based on the monsters current hp.

so to repeat myself even more(posted this example in another thread) if you do just 1000 normal physical damage baal life would after the first hit have dropped to 436500

and the next CB hit would take away 545625 hp

plus your normal 1000 physical damage of course.

ive heard somewhere that it didnt work with boss ( ie:Baal, diablo, meph, andy, dury, gosh i guess i named em all)
is that true?
or does it work like you sem to say it does,

It does works on boss, but not to a big extent.
However its very useful still vs boss, try it on DC!

It works EXTREMELY well against bosses, that's probably the best reason to equip your cookie-cutter merc with it (nm act2 off or def) :p

i works with bosses
i wooped d clones arse with it, it would have taken me 15 min to kill him without it, instead took me a minute and a half, maybe... and thats just cause my ar isn't that great. when i hit tho, there was a definent impact with cb
