    cresent moon

i was just wondering what the best weapon for a Cresent Moon would be, if I wanted it one handed for my tesladin. I've been looking for one since I made him, and haven't played him in a while because I've been bored without one. I haven't found anything good 3 socketed yet, but I was thinking phase blade? For the speed it would be good, and most (read all) of my damage comes from the elemental part of the hit
    thx in advance

Berserker Axe is the common choice, I think.

Berserker Axes are popular, although phase blades aren't bad, especially since you don't have to go through the trouble of repairing it so often. (axes tend to have low durability in general.)

    Crescent Moon

    Durability: 44 of 44
    Required Dexterity: 109

    Required Level: 61
Sword Class - Very Fast Attack Speed
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 82
    Fingerprint: 0x5d94d1d9
    +185% Enhanced Damage
    20% Increased Attack Speed
    Ignore Target Defense

7% Chance to cast Level 13 Static Field on striking
Level 18 Summon Spirit Wolf (30/30 Charges)
    -35% to Enemy Lightning Resistance
    Socketed (3: 3 used)

This one got extra style points from me, so it was my choice.

Phase blade would indeed be good, if it's for a tesladin/frostzealot.. just get it superior, with 15% ed, or at least close, or your wasting an um in it. You'll be able to use it with other chars.. and damage is never bad.

Hmmmm. I'm not too knowledgable on this sort of thing, but won't the phase blade make an additional Zeal breakpoint?

If I'm right, then its a question of balance. I imagine the phase blade will deal more lightning damage by virtue of more strikes per unit time, whereas other weapons will have better physical damage.

Most Tesla/Frostadins make it in a Phase Blade. There are several reasons for this. 1) its indestructible and Zeal plows through durability like nothing else (note: Berzerker Axes have durability of 12). 2) It is faaaaaaast - you can save yourself a lot of equipment space by putting it in a -20 base weapon. 3) Most of your damage doesn't come from physical damage - its really only used for Life Leech, and if you equip Drac's, then you don't have to worry about that. Plus, the physical damage on a PB isn't all that bad anyway. 45 average damage on a regular one is pretty good.

    45 average damage? O_O

I actually had to check that from Arreat Summit.

The damage on Phase blades is 31-35, so average is 33..

It really WOULD be nice, if it was that high.. wouldn't have made my CM in a Cryptic sword then..

Heh, whoops! I was thinking of Mythical Swords. Incidentally, I'm planning on making Crescent Moon in a Mythical Sword for use on a Frenzy barb.

Humph crescant moon, I think mine is in a 1 handed axe don't remember the type of axe but that's ok.

It really depends on why you want crescant moon, if you're using it as a melee weapon than you want it in something strong yet durable possibly a phaseblade. Or you could go with a beserker axe for the high damage.

Then again there is another use for the crescant moon, you can be going for the ctc's on the runeword, IIRC furysins love the ctc and the extra damage from etheral hence the big damage ethereal 1 handed weapons are their choice item type.

Yet another use is for a summoner barb where the charges of spirit wolves are your main consern and you could care less about anything else. then you just want 1 handed and cheap requirements.

Quick question. if you make it in a Phase Blade, can you "repair" it to recharge the charges of summon spirit wolf? Or does the game think it's indestructable and so won't let you repair it?

It should be repairable, if the repair all or shop repair doesn't work I know that the gem recipe works.

of course if it's ethereal the charges can not be repaired.
