Hey i was just thinking about making a cresent moon runeword for my act 2 merc on an eth Ogre Axe 3 socket, may i ask is this worth it? Because i'm only on Non-ladder and maybe i can try it out for style. In addition i don't have much other options just wanna know how it make turn out...

I've asked myself that same question some weeks ago, when I dropped a perfect superior ethereal Ogre Axe (15% ED 3 AR). Since this weapon can get 3 sockets only, I decided to give a try to the cheap Crescent Moon runeword, just for the fun of it. I was in Ladder2 at that time, and of course I didn't expect something great regarding to my other RW polearms (Pride, Infinity, Obediance...). But what I can say is that the runeword is still viable, and quite cheap, especially on NL. However, you would also probably be able to trade your UM rune for a better unique like Reaper's Toll ...

If you have Reaper's Toll, your merc will definitely appreciate it much more than Crescent Moon. For two reasons : First, decrepify is an awesome curse, your merc won't probably never die again from melee with that. And then, Reaper's Toll has a great Life leech, a thing that Crescent Moon is missing !

Frosty is absolutely right.

Cresent moon is an old runeword and ther´s a lot of stuff that is better as merc weapon - whatever function your merc have. For all chars dealing ph dmg Reaper´s Toll is WAY superior - does not matter if not eth and with bad %.

I guess, that you want to use cresent moon because of casting SF. Notice that cb works better and you can make a build with 100% chance of cb if you want to have a boss killer.

True , and it's a very cheap build by the way : Obedience polearm (40%), Guillaume's Face (35%) and Rattlecage (25%) :thumbsup: !
