    Crafting

Well, I've never crafted at any point of when I used to play and was looking into it this time.
So, I see people look mostly for Ral Rune, JJ(Junk Jewels), Perfect Amethyst. Now, what I was wondering was for say you want to do this on an amulet.

The amulet must be 'magic' only, correct?
Does the stats on the item(amulet) make a difference? For example, would an amulet that has +skills give more chance of making something better than say, using an amulet that has something like reduce magic damage by 2?

Thanks to anyone who can clear that up.

    Yes, it does.

    no it doesn't matter.
All you need to do is make sure the combination of character level and item level are good so you have a chance to get +2 skill (the single most important mod).
The best way to achieve this is by gambling and crafting with a character of level 93.

Oh okay, so you need a higher level to able to get the better results from items?
    I have a 92. Maybe someday it'll make it to 93. Lol..

    Thanks for the info.

As mentioned, item level is important too. I grab all magic amulets from Baal runs for this reason.

    Re: Crafting

93 is high enough to be crafting baal run ammys, or other monsters above **
    and hoping for +2 skills

another good mod is +15-20fcr on caster amys
+10 from the random affixes (at ilvl 5 or higher)
    +5-10 from the caster affix

getting both on an ilvl 90 ammy is very slim, about 1:170

    No, not items. amulets.

If you are interested in crafting other items, the 'golden' levels are different. Often 69 or 74 is preferred for everything that isn't an amulet.

theory sais that what is just important is qlvl and character lvl.but: in my own experience when u craft amu u have quite big chance to get +skills if crafting amu has this prefix.but on the other hand very rarely is +skill for the same char...and unfortunately u can often make nice fcr amu with skill for mele char or nice mele stats and skill for soso :)

    Re: Crafting

To make sure that no one is confused by this post. Quality level (Qlvl) is important, and cannot be changed, but not as important as item level (ilvl) and the character level (clvl). Qlvl only comes into play when the ilvl that the item has is lower than the Qlvl when determining the mods. Rings/amulets for instance have Qlvl=1 while they can have an ilvl from 1-99. So qlvl is of little help when crafting these two items. Just trying to keep people from making a mistake or a misunderstanding.

    In summary
Qlvl cannot be changed and is hard coded into the game
ilvl is determined by the monster that dropped it or the clvl when gambled
clvl is the character level of the character (self explanatory)

    Re: Crafting

sry i wrote qlvl but i meant ilvl.amu have no real qlvl so ilvl is always determinated just with area lvl or monster level. but what i wanted to mentioned in my thread is: there is a chance to roll craft items with +skill if u use amu with skill.so dont sell it to vendors after gamble when amu isn´t good enough and craft it ;)

    Re: Crafting

yes/no, it also depends on your clvl
+1 skills can happen on ilvl 36 or higher ammys
+2 on ilvl 90 or higher

if a magic ammy has +1 and your lvl 36 or higher, it has a chance to get +1
if a magic ammy has +2 and your clvl is 90 or higher it has a chance for +2
