Lately I've been trying to craft lld boots but have been getting unexpected results as far as the level requirement is concerned.
It would seem to me that the wiki's Item Generation Tutorial has an error in this regard.

The formula

rlvl = rlvl(of highest affix) +10 +3x (#of other affixes)

and the example given

So if you have a craft with 3 affixes and the highest affix has a required level (rlvl) of 12 your required level for that craft is 12 + 10 + 3*2 = 28

(I bolded what I think are errors)


Shouldn't this example actually be 12 + 10 + 3*3 = 31, or is there something I am missing?

If there's any contention over this being a mistake I can post the boots in question.

Yeah, it's a mistake, it should be 3*3.

OK thanks, I've edited the wiki so that hopefully no one else will try to craft the impossible :whistling:

Affixes control the required level of the craft. The formula is rlvl = rlvl(of highest affix) +10 +3x (#of affixes). So if you have a craft with 4 affixes and the highest affix has a required level (rlvl) of 12 your required level for that craft is 12 + 10 + 3*4 = 34. Since character level controls affix level and the # of affixes that can spawn it also controls the rlvl of the craft.

I changed the number of affixes used in the example from 3 to 4 to make it easier to understand
