Crafting: hit power gloves

Hi,

I have a few questions concerning the crafting of the power knockback gloves.

recipe:

Magic Chain Gloves/Heavy Bracers/Vambraces
Ort Rune
Perfect Sapphire
Any Jewel

Q:
1. Does it matter where the gloves came from? Easiest place to get them? gamble?
2. Does clvl matter when crafting for these? I have a lvl 95 paladin, is he to high, or just perfect for the job?
3. What would be the perfect stats?
2passive
20ias
knockback
Dext
life
res

right?

thanx in advance!

1. Vendors in Nightmare for heavy bracers, normal hell play for vambraces.
2. Yes, the more the better.
3. Depends on what you're looking for, but yeah, pretty much.

When crafting most items that aren't amulets - cause you want high affixes on amulets - it's best to buy items in hell or nightmare at mvl 69 and craft with the same character. That way you will always have 4 additional affixes and those render the best gloves.
I shop mine in act 2 nightmare* as those have a high chance - there is a shop calculator somewhere, don't know where though.
* normal chain gloves will work just fine, I can't see any reason to go for heavy bracers. And definitely don't use found gloves if you can get around using them. You can't control ilvl as easily as you can with shopped gloves.

That was 1&2, for 3 we can be short.

You keep them whenever they have 20 ias regardless of other mods.
The next mod to look for a passive skills or bow skills or crossbow skills. Passive skills are the best - because all bowazon uses knockback gloves and they don't need bow skills - though other skills have their use too. There are assassin skill though I'm not sure anyone want them.
Then you look for all additional mods, dex is interesting, str is too. Leech, life, resistance and other things - they are random mods, so all things that work for rings and amulets works here too.

P.S. if you want to craft with your paladin, consider going for amulets.

We didn't use mlvl - which I don't even think is a property in diablo II. Sure you aren't meaning clvl?

Re: Crafting: hit power gloves

When crafting, you have to ensure that the new item level is 71 or higher, else you won't have 4 additional affixes all the time.

Shopping: ilvl = clvl + 5
Gambling: ilvl = clcl + (-5...+4)
Crafting: new_ilvl = old_ilvl/2 + clvl/2 (rounded down before adding)

A good affix calculator is found here. Note that the affix level (called "level" in the provided tables) is not equal to the item level, but the calculator handles the affix level calculation properly.

does not compute. Krishcan says i need lvl 76 to gamble gloves and craft. Someone else says 69. Which is it?

Re: Crafting: hit power gloves

According to my calculations, 69 is correct for shopping while it's 74 for gambling. Where did I say it's 76 ? :scratchchin:
