Couple of Questions about Hammerdins

Yeah so I've been playing classic for a long time... I have a level 90 pally on ladder and now I've decided to play expac. So I read some guides and stuff but I got my very own questions.

First off, is it possible and viable to make a pure vit hammerdin? As I hear on expac(unlike classic) you do max HS for the bonus block(I know how the formula works and all, no need to explain) and off course you leave 1 point to redemp and salv. So my question is if it's easy to achieve a pure vit din with max block on expac.

Also I need a good gear input (I got friends that play expac unlike me so I can get some and eventually get good gear) but unlike in most threads that they put it all in short I need more detail on the names of armor and sutff(the true only armor I know in expac is enigma).

I have no problems leveling, doing some rushes for hellforge runs and stuff... that's easy. I just need a basic input to do a din. Thanks

Frostburn/magefist
2 x SoJ or Soj/raven

Get your hands on as many +skill charms as you can, every +1 to skills adds a ****load of damage.

enuf str for gear
enuf dex for max block (idk the formula that well)
no energy
rest vit

It has become easier to get max block, saving you some stat points in dex, and you get insane defence since it enhances your total defence, not only from your shield.

Looked it up, I assume that it's Horizon's Tornado - Scourge. How do these stats help elemental hammers?

Even with a high level blocking shield and holy shield you are probably going to need at least SOME points in dex to really hit max block.

Depending on your gear it is possible to get by with little to zero strength points, but it's not really necessary. Hammerdins are incredibly powerful.

Thank you for being the only one to being close to answering my doubts how I ask. I said I really didn't wanted any of gear put in short words since I haven't played expac yet and the first post is of someone doing the complete opposite and didn't even truly seems he bothered reading my post.

Back on topic, so is it not worth it or not possible ot make a pure vit hammerdin in expac?

It is very possible to make one, with items like enigma, torch, and anni, you can get by on base str and reach very high str to equip almost every item in the game. Max block in pvm is really up to the player using the character, however since Holy Shield really helps out getting to that 75% it is usually a good idea to get it. Hammerdins can spare a lot of stat points in reaching your goal of end game gear and with the amount of players these days, it is also not hard to level up a new character and replace your stats when you have all of your gear. It doesn't take much gear to get through the game when you are playing with a hammerdin so a few points into str, a few into dex, isn't a waste either.
