I am doing hell countess run. The highest rune I have seen is UM. I read posts saying the highest I can get is IST. Is there any chance to get rune beyond IST?

Yes, I beleive that the countess can drop up to LO. Although i beleive that any rune aboove IST is not part of her "special drop".

So, this means getting SUR from her is impossible......is this becauz of her Ilvl or anything?

Another rune finding option is to run the chests of Lower Kurast. It helps if you have teleport, as you can blast through without even fighting anyone. Do it on /players 8 and you can get some decent runes.

It's because she is just a hell act 1 super-unique. Hell Andy can't drop better than Lo as well, for example.

I used to have the most luck with as someone said Lower Kurast, Kurast Bazzar and River of flame.

High level runes are extremly rare - the top 5 I am talking about.


I personally had played for about 4 1/2 years , seen countless high runes in trades which were all obvious fakes and only ever seen 1x legit rune in the top 5 drop.

I probably played on average a good 15 hours a week as well - so dont count on seeing them coz they are rare as!

Monsters don't have an Ilvl (item lvl). It's better if you don't use these abbreviations when you're not sure what they mean.

The countess has a different kind of drop, because she has her own Treasureclass, which is divided into an item drop (which can drop runes too, and is the only way you can get Gul or Lo from her) and a rune drop which goes up to Ist.

Her minions can drop up to Zod. Kill them all.
