Could use some gear advice

First off I must applaud all of you here that have been helping me thus far. It reminds me of the UO days with the helpful community that is here and a much needed change from the WoW community. I'm currently lvl 36 and farming the baal minions for levels.

I have a old two socket helm from act 1 that i have topaz's in that needs to be replaced...my weapon currently is a terrible 3 open socket flail so i have no idea what to do here. I did manage to make stealth armor piece and have a yellow shield with some nice +block +resistances FB and FHR so I think i'll keep that for now although it's defense is low. And a pair of standard issue white boots

I have my socket quest and i was thinking of using it on a newer helm and putting topaz's and skulls in it and I still have my imbue from act one.

This is for a pure trapsin with MB btw. Any advice at all for a weapon or boots?

Ideally, your weapon has traps skills and is fast. Now if I remember correct, traps rarely spawn on claws so that's out of the question.
Then my advise is spirit. It's simply overpowered for the cost, make it in a fast sword - Long Sword forinstance.

Boots. Depends on what you need and what build you want. Sanders is cheap and offers 40 frw. Rares can come with tripple resistances - gamble ftw. I think we need more information for the boots.


P.S. As for shield, consider Rhyme. It offers cannot be frozen for a very cheap price on top of some mf, resistances and block.
P.P.S. don't waste a socket quest on a stupid helm. Just keep visiting the ncp's until you find a socketable helm. Better safe the quest for something useful - socketing uniques or your sword for spirit.

Shop for claws with + trap skills. I managed to find some with +3 to Lightning Sentry and +3 to Traps. I'd recommend going dual claw with weapon block rather than using a shield.

well haha, one problem is that i forgot to mention is that this is my first character so i really don't have another toon that has been farming so twinking is out. so for the moment what would you guys suggest? And i appreciate the feed back.

I thought spirit was a ladder only shield runeword?

And one more questions i'm sorry but why do you mention making it a fast weapon?

edit: oh and single player as well.

If you send me a private message with your e-mail address, I can e-mail you a couple of Bartuc's Talons. They have +2 to all assassin skills, and are a perfectly viable option.

Spirit is ladder only. yet in single player, there are mods to solve this problem. Look for rwm in the single player forum if interested.

And one more questions i'm sorry but why do you mention making it a fast weapon?

Laying traps is ias based. So using a fast weapon should increase your laying speed compared to a slow weapon.
And good luck finding Noodles weapon. It can take very long.

I bought it from Hell-difficulty Anya, a vendor in ACT V Harrogath. She's right next to a portal to Pindleskin's garden, so you can quickly check out what she is selling, then jump through the portal and back again, which will randomly reroll her items. With enough patience, anybody can find one, although it's mind-numbingly boring. I bought these from her when I was selling an item I picked up from killing Pindleskin, and happened to check her wares.

what's a good way to make some cash for buying high end items like that? just pick up all the charms and rings or is there some good places for just straight out cash farming that i could do with a trapper? it's nice to have another trapper to talk to about this stuff so again thanks alot for all your help and patience with me

Once you get to a high enough level, the gold will start piling up. You'll notice there's a bank in Atma, called (appropriately enough) the "Bank of ATMA." I just checked, and I've got just under 62 million gold sitting there now. I let it accumulate, and then blow tens of millions gambling.

There are few high end items that can be purchased with gold, with trappers' claws being kind of the exception to the rule. Most of the endgame equipment you'll have to either find from a monster, or trade for. (You might want to create a profile in the Single Player Trade Forum.) My advice to you if you would like to start trading for items is to collect every gem that drops, and cube them up. Quite serviceable items can be bought for perfect gems.

Thse two Bartuc's I sent you are sufficient for endgame gear, but it's fun to optimize. I've got literally thousands of items in ATMA stashes, and I've only traded two or maybe three times. Nightmare Andariel is a good next target for you, then Nightmare Mephisto. My trapper was one of my first Single Player characters, and her first Bartuc's dropped at Nightmare Pindleskin. Pindleskin is a great place to get experience, cash, gems, and rejuvenation potions. You'll want to use Cloak of Shadows on his minions, and Mind Blast him if he's getting too close to you.

In Hell, the most you can get for a single item is 35,000 gold. Magic (blue) armor seems to be worth that the most.

Good luck with your assassin - it's probably my favorite class, with bowazons a close second.

Yes I started with the bowazon but she just couldn't keep up with the damage of my friend's sorc and it was really boring just watching him destroy everything. And we play via tcp/ip often actually but we are using hamachi to do so. If you would ever like to join just let us know

well i have gotten a tal rasha amulet from a chest and a razortail so far from nm andy. so not bad so far i guess.i don't really think the razor tail is the best for me but i could use it on my bowazon later. i gave the amulet to my sorc friend

Razortail is excellent for both bowazons and Lightning Fury amazons, primarily for the increase to Pierce. A very useful piece you found there - Congratulations!
