Coors lawsuit and Parents

Apparently, if you make a product and someone does something illegal with it then you are accountable. Seems this young man broke several laws. yet somehow this is all coors fault..oh and it's the girlfriend's parent's fault for allowing her teenager to have a car.
this is not the first case I have seen very recently that seems to defer any and all responsibilty froma child to everyone and anything else except the child that is to blame.
So i have two questions. you all know I think the lawsuit is completely off teh wall and should be thrown out. but what do you think? am i completely off the wall and should be thrown out too? (that one is going to get me in trouble.
Secondly, do parents these days seem over protective? are kids not taking responsibility of their actions? what will be the effect of this trend on our nations youth. so are parent's too soft? are kids getting away wit too much? were your parents tough/easy on you? how'd you turn out?
