Coolest starter weapon?
Post your opinions!
might not be the coolest, but definitly the strongest (at least for me and I have told that already in similar threads): 1.09 Ravenclaw
Not as good as RTB's, but still kill anything in act 1 normal with one hit on normal attack, and useable at level 1 by all except sorc and druid.
Gemmed Great Maul

Although for damage, id have to go for the 6 socket great maul with hels.
We doing this again?
Thrugg's Gemmed War Axe

6 socket War Axe (or could use Crystal Sword, less damage but lighter) with 6 rare jewels that each have +4 min damage on them (everything else is bonus, although the -reqs is obviously very useful). Not as high damage as the HelMaul, but hits quite a lot faster and is one handed. Does need you to get to level 3 though.
My own vote went to the Scythe, because it looks cool and is still useful, the last jewel could be switched out with something else though (unless you're making base strength sorceress ;P)
You've got it all wrong... The best thing about starting a new character is the exciting prospect that the next weapon you find is almost certainly going to be better than the one you have..It's also nice to actually buy a viable weapon, or just find one without doing endless runs.. but if I have to choose then Thruggs War axe looks totally sweet.
Cool != effective it doesnt matter what is faster, higher damage, etc.
Nothing is cooler than the biggest, most destructive looking whomping stick you can find. Therefore the 6 hel great maul wins, followed closely by some sort of scythe.
But think I don't twink so I picked the non twinking durf option.
I tend to agree w/ this and only twink after normal. My fave is a sword w/ steel or stregnth in it as those runes are fairly easy to get.
Durf isnt very good against fallen. I keep on trying to summon durf but it never works right.
Summoning Durf only takes a bit of willpower.
Step one: Get beer.
Step two: Don't drink the beer.
Step three: Durf!
Its step two that trips most people up.
5-socket long bow with jewels of envy... for untwinked chars 3-socket with chippies of choice. After all, some of young chars don't want to go toe to toe with enemies.
I voted other, for The Diggler. It may not be that good, but its fancy
But its lvl req is 11, so youve probably done most of act 1 by then. although for coolness, its got to be up there, if only for the name and how crappy it is past act 1.. i love all the useless weapons that arent effective for 97% of this game.
That's a whole lot of luvin' Blizzard really dropped the ball on level requirements.. unique normal bows anyone
diggler is my fireclaw druid's favorite weapon, though the fact that he is lvl 32 has a lot to do with that
this has inspired me to go out and make the ultimate low level weapon, does it need to be lvl 1? or would something like 3 or 5 work too?
I'm a big fan of the Gnasher.
Not so. My characters are level 12 before they step onto the Stony Field.
how? where do you find the monsters to kill to get to 12?
Kill all the bosses (superuniques).
Coolest... I'd have to go with any dagger. The Gull is probably the best candidate then.
However, I voted for Durf.
