Cool ways of using 'Cham'

I was under the impression that one but not both worked... but maybe I'm confusing that with CE or something else

I thought the +% lightning damage would work once when we cast the traps. After that no doubling that bonus with the +% lightning damage or taking advantage of the -eLR.

The only kind of % bonuses trap damage can receive comes from Conviction/Lower Resist if I recall correctly.

That is correct. Only trap that does get bonus from +% and -% damage, even though it's not really a trap, is Fire Blast.

- 'Doom' builds: I can't actually think of any where this would shine... It's been a while since I properly planned. Ideas?
Not to try and change your mind or anything, but I've used a Doom 2H stick to good effect on a Fury Wolf Druid. It has holy freeze, +skills, on weapon ias, and good damage. Everything a druid needs. I then pair him with a Act 2 might merc using reapers to slow everything and its cousin to a crawl. You hardly ever get interrupted in the middle of a fury cycle in most situations since it takes everything ages to even try and hit you.

Edit: Other less effective, yet stylish "doom" builds.

Warning Really Extremely Rich Build - Doom Tesla/Frost/Firedin. Doom Weapon, Dream Helm/Shield, Dragon Armor. Run conviction yourself and grab a faith merc, or run fanac yourself and grab a might/infinity merc. Technically the dragon armor/holy fire aura is crap and can do without, but its stylish to have all of them running.

Frenzy Barb with Doom offhand provides nice slowing effect, otherwsie there are better choices

Some kind of Melee sorc could probably use it as the main weapon, call it the Polar Bear Sorc, but a straight dual dream bear would easily outclass it.

I was thinking a bit about that.

Unless I'm missing something, making 'Oath' in a similar weapon (eth Silver Edged Axe, for instance) and hiring a Holy Freeze moron with Reapers will be the same build, just weaker by some 20%.

Except of course for 'Freezes Target' mod, which might make all the difference with Fury - let me know your experiences.

For Auradin - 'HoJ' over 'Doom' any day. For Bearsorc - 'Passion' / 'Beast' / PB with Eths and Shaels. I think. HF on the moron if I want safety.

Bottom line is: I don't think 'Doom' opens new characters, like for instance 2x 'Dream' or 'HoJ' + 'Dragon', or 'Faith'. It can just provide up to extra 20% damage for certain builds... At least that's what I think based on your replies and some musings of mine.

Yeah, I get that. Goes on my list, to be done one day. Cheers and thanks for linking.

Some (but, strangely, not all) of your screenshots stopped working but I get the idea. :)

It doesn't really open up any new builds on their own, it only compliments or allows you to add something different to already existing builds. Doom will never be as useful as Dreams or Faith.

As far as the druid goes, there is no substantial difference. The only thing it allows is for you to have holy freeze + might + decrep, instead of just two of them. I'm really not sure how much of a damage difference this is actually (it might actually be worse for that matter) but I had fun with it. Freeze target was also fun, but I don't think it makes doom the superior choice.
