    Confused cube recepies

    Hi all,

I have been reading a bunch of threads and run into some questions.

    1) If I put my Buriza in the cube can I put a socket to it. (in combination with the correct Rune)

    2) If have also read that some Put Grand Charms in the cube for Skillers. Can somebody tell if this is correct and how do they do that.

    greetings.

    Ronald

I don't think you can put sockets un set/unique items with the cube, you need the larzuk quest for that....

as for the charms, put one of them in the cube with 6 perfect gems and push the button

    1) Arreat Summit will have all the recipes. If it still exists, that recipe to add a socket to a unique item will be far too expensive. Better to go to Larzuk.

    2) One GC and three perfect gems to re-roll for the chance of a skiller. The GC must be ilvl 50 and above. Hunt for them from NM Flayer Jungle onwards. If you want the chance of a skiller and + life, you need to use higher ilvl GCs. Best place for those would be level 85 areas in Hell, the WSK and the Pits being good places. Baal GC's have ilvl of 99 (note: Hell Diablo, Hell Nihlathak also drop Baal GC's, although the ilvl is not 99), and these are the best to re-roll for the chance of a skiller, and these are the only ones that can give the suffix + vita of 41-45 life.

It's actually 3 perfect gems for the charms.

Magic Item + 3 perfect gems of any type = magic item with new mods.

    EDIT: Pwned by Frostburn

Only Larzuk can put one socket in a unique item. The only things you can socket in the cube are
    - white non-superior non-low quality items
    - blue weapons
    - yellow items (but that recipe requires a Stone of Jordan. Anyone even considering this recipe in the SPF will be [horrible expression]).
    The recipe works as follows:
    - Take one grand charm with an item level of more than 49. Check ATMA for ilvl. GCs found in the Great Marsh in Nightmare difficulty and beyond have ilvl>49.
    - Add 3 PGems.
    - Press transmute and pray.

Unfortunately, there's only a slight chance that the resulting GC will be a skiller. Prepare to spend a LOT of PGems to get some skillers. Also prepare to see some Hexing or Acrobatic skillers...

Edit: Why am I not suprised that I got pwnd hard...

No. You can only socket non-magical items (that are not low quality or Superior either, but they may be ethereal) and rare items with the cube.
Any magical item can be rerolled with 3 (not 6) perfect gems. Magical (or socketed) weapons have another 3 recipes that uses smaller gems.

Beware that the chance to roll a skiller is small in each attempt.

Not if you play like me and never move items between characters. I have used this recipe in 1.09 with my curses-only necro. Mana had not been an issue for him for a long time, and one more level of his curses wouldn´t mean much. His rogue merc´s rare circlet, on the other hand, could really use a socket...

What ilvl does it need to be to get a skiller with life?

Any skiller can get up to +30 life. Then:

    61 for +(31-35) life
    77 for +(36-40) life
    91 for +(41-45) life

How does ATMA check the ILVL of a GC.

    Or is it a website?

You can get the ilvl from ATMA. (Ilvl depends on the mlvl of the monster that droped it, so it can vary.) I just pulled an ATMA readout from the Item Find Thread to use as an example, highlighting where the ilvl is listed:

ATMA here is neither the poor woman we avenge in A2 nor a website. It is a program that makes SP playable. By me, that is. Check the stickies.
